Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has been a player that quarterback Jordan Love has looked to take up the slack. A number of the Green Bay Packers’ receivers have been out with injuries this season, which has resulted in Wicks getting more playing time.
On Sunday against their bitter rival, the Chicago Bears, Wicks failed to make an impact on the field.
What’s The Latest On Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks?
While the Packers weren’t getting too much on offense early, it was their defense that stepped up to deliver a few big plays.
The Packers scored a late touchdown in the second quarter to take a 14-3 halftime lead.

As for Wicks, he has not recorded a catch as the game is now in the third quarter. Chicago scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion, closing the gap to 14-11. But Green Bay scored another touchdown in the third quarter on a Christian Watson catch to up its lead to 21-11. Chicago tacked on a field goal to make it 21-14 Packers late in the third quarter.
Currently, one likely reason Wicks isn’t seeing much playing time is that the Packers have a full complement of receivers back and healthy. Among those are Jayden Reed, Watson, Matthew Golden, and Romeo Doubs.

According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics, Wicks has an impact score of 73.1 and grades out to a C. For the season, Wicks has 26 catches for 307 yards and two touchdown receptions. The Packers drafted Wicks out of Virginia in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Compared to Wicks’ impact score, Watson has an impact score of 85.8 and grades out to a B, and Golden, who played college football at the University of Texas, has an impact score of 81.4 and grades out to a B-.
As Sunday’s game rolls along, it’s not clear if Wicks will see any time on the field. Watson and Doubs have been quite active in the Green Bay offense. It probably would take one of those other receivers to get injured during the game for Wicks to be on the field.
Still, Wicks is part of a team that’s right in the NFL playoff mix as Green Bay plays out Sunday’s clash with Chicago at cold Lambeau Field.
