Is Cooper Kupp Playing? A Look at Whether the Seahawks WR Is Injured After Slow Start in Week 14 vs. Falcons

Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp has been on the field for Seattle against the Atlanta Falcons, but he's been pretty quiet. What's the latest?

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp was trying to play a big part in his team’s contest on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. For the majority of the game, though, Kupp was pretty quiet on the field. That had some Seahawks fans, as well as NFL fans, wondering about the receiver’s health.

Is Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp Injured?

The Seahawks took control of the game in the second half, after Jaxon Smith-Njigba put on a show in the first half.

As for Kupp, after failing to make an impact in the first half, he was able to score a touchdown later in the game.

The Seahawks took a commanding 30-6 lead over the Falcons in the fourth quarter. Kupp hopes to become more involved in the Seattle offense as the game progresses. With his touchdown catch, though, it probably makes him feel a lot better.

According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics, Kupp has an impact score of 74.1 and grades out to a C. Entering Sunday’s game, Kupp had 34 catches for 438 yards and one touchdown reception this season.

Kupp was a third-round draft pick for the Los Angeles Rams in the 2017 NFL Draft. Kupp played a big role in helping the Rams succeed as he was a big target for Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. He played eight seasons for Los Angeles and is in his first season with the Seahawks.

He has two 1,000-yard reception seasons, both with the Rams. For Kupp’s career, he has 668 receptions for 8,214 career receiving yards and 58 touchdown catches. He also had two seasons where he finished with double-digit touchdown receptions, both with the Rams.

Additionally, Kupp has been known to fill in as a rushing option, mostly when he was with the Rams. In his career, he has 26 carries for 139 yards and one rushing touchdown. He’s not looking to fill that role with Seattle, though, since Kenneth Walker III is the leading back there.

Kupp also has been pretty sure-handed during his career, with only seven fumbles throughout his nine-year NFL career. He’s only lost two of those fumbles, too. With him not apparently injured on Sunday, maybe he’ll get some more targets from Darnold as the Seahawks roll their way toward another victory.
