The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has become an increasingly popular destination for athletes seeking to unwind while witnessing world-class Formula 1 racing. During the 2025 season finale, several accomplished tennis professionals travelled to the Yas Marina Circuit to witness the championship-deciding spectacle.
Jannik Sinner, the World No. 2, attended Abu Dhabi with his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic, a Danish model with whom he has been in a reported relationship since 2025. Through his Instagram stories, Sinner shared candid moments from their time at the Grand Prix.
During his visit, Sinner had the opportunity to engage in conversations with some of the grid’s most prominent drivers, including Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli, and George Russell, showcasing his considerable enthusiasm for motorsport.

Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa was another high-profile attendee at Yas Marina, embracing the glamorous atmosphere of the event. She shared striking photographs on Instagram showcasing the picturesque marina and luxury yachts visible from the circuit’s spectator areas. Having successfully returned from a serious back injury sustained during 2024, Badosa appeared to be thoroughly enjoying her well-deserved break away from the professional tennis tour.

Tunisian player Ons Jabeur made the journey to Abu Dhabi with her husband, Karim Kamoun, sharing an image on her Instagram story. Russian player Karen Khachanov spent his visit in the exclusive Haas Formula 1 Team paddock, securing special access to one of the circuit’s most restricted sections.

Max Verstappen of Oracle Red Bull Racing secured his eighth victory of the 2025 season, yet the championship narrative belonged entirely to McLaren’s Lando Norris. The British driver finished third, a result sufficient to secure his maiden Formula 1 world championship title.
Norris defeated Verstappen by two points in the final standings, becoming Britain’s eleventh Formula 1 world champion and the sport’s thirty-fifth overall. His achievement marked the first world championship for a McLaren driver since Lewis Hamilton in 2008 and ended Verstappen’s four-year consecutive championship streak.
Oscar Piastri finished second in the race, thirteen points behind Norris in the final standings. Charles Leclerc managed fourth place, whilst George Russell secured fifth for Mercedes. McLaren also won the Constructors’ Championship for the second successive year with 800 points, becoming the first team since 1991 to achieve back-to-back constructors’ titles, securing their tenth constructors’ championship overall.
