Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has reportedly been earmarked as a top transfer target by a Saudi Arabian club following his recent fiery interview against the Reds hierarchy.

Earlier this Saturday, Dec. 6, the Reds registered 3-3 Premier League draw at Leeds United despite leading the game 2-0 in the 72nd minute. Hugo Ekitike bagged a second half brace before Dominik Szoboszlai put the visitors temporarily ahead in the 80th minute.

Following Liverpool’s away draw at Elland Road, Salah addressed the media after being benched for the third consecutive time in the Premier League. He suggested that his relationship with Reds’ head coach Arne Slot had become fractured earlier on Saturday.

Subsequently, according to the BBC, the Egyptian winger has drawn the attention of Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal and a number of other clubs. The former Chelsea man, who penned a contract extension earlier in April, could well be on his way out as Liverpool’s top brass are open to selling.

Salah, who will depart his team’s camp next week to play in the Africa Cup of Nations, has struggled to replicate his form from last season of late. The 33-year-old has netted just five goals and provided three assists in 19 appearances across competitions for Liverpool.

Salah, who registered a staggering 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 overall matches for Liverpool last campaign, stated on Saturday that he has been made to feel like a scapegoat.

“I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame. I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn’t want me in the club. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling,” the four-time Premier League Golden Boot winner said (via BBC).

The three-time PFA Player’s Player of the Year continued, “This club, I will always support it. My kids will always support it. I love the club so much and I always will. It [the situation] is not acceptable to me, to be fair. I don’t get it. I don’t think I’m the problem. I have done so much for this club. I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earned it. I am not bigger than anyone but I earned my position. It’s football.”

Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, has guided the Merseyside club to two Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League trophy, and six other silverware.
