Coco Gauff knows exactly who to trust when it comes to her wardrobe: her boyfriend, Jalen Sera. The World No. 3 and American tennis star recently opened up about relying on the Atlanta-based artist for sincere fashion advice.
The couple has been in a steady relationship for over two years. Gauff just wrapped up her 2025 campaign with her fourth appearance at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her run ended in the group stage after a win against Jasmine Paolini and losses to Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka.
Who Does Coco Gauff Trust for Style Tips?
Gauff has established herself as one of the Hologic WTA Tour’s biggest trendsetters. The Atlanta, Georgia, native will soon be honored with the Style Influencer of the Year award at the 39th annual FN Achievement Awards. Throughout the 2025 season, the fashion-forward athlete consistently turned heads with her on-court looks.
It was a banner year for Gauff on the court as well. She captured the prestigious French Open singles title by defeating World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and later won the Wuhan Open against fellow American Jessica Pegula. Beyond her singles success, she teamed up with McCartney Kessler to win the Canadian Open women’s doubles title.
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the winner of 11 singles titles and 10 doubles titles shared that Jalen Sera is the one person she looks to for guidance. The couple shares a unique history, as Gauff’s mother, Candi, was Sera’s fourth-grade teacher.
“The only person I take seriously is my boyfriend,” Gauff said. “He gives good advice. I am going to a music festival, and I was trying on outfits on the phone with him.”

The 2025 Wimbledon Championships provided a major platform for Gauff’s fashion sense, despite her tough first-round loss to Dayana Yastremska. Her New Balance kit stood out by blending classic design elements with a tribute to the tournament’s history.
She wore an outfit featuring a corset-style silhouette and eye-catching embroidery that nodded to Wimbledon icons and their symbols. Gauff has endorsed New Balance since signing her first multi-year sponsorship contract with the brand in 2018, wearing their apparel and shoes exclusively on tour.
The 2025 US Open offered another opportunity for Gauff to display her flair. She took the court in a New York-themed custom New Balance kit that featured a pleated white skirt with intricate details. She paired the look with her signature shoes, the Coco CG2, in red to complete the ensemble.
