Eagles Fans Turn On Nick Sirianni After Bears Loss – ‘You Look Clueless’

Philadelphia Eagles HC Nick Sirianni faces fan backlash after the loss to the Chicago Bears highlighting offensive struggles and playoff concerns.

Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni is facing a tsunami of fan backlash following the team’s crushing 24-15 home defeat against the Chicago Bears. The Eagles came into Week 13 off a 24-21 loss to divisional rival Dallas Cowboys, while the Bears had won four consecutive games.

What Went Wrong for Nick Sirianni’s Eagles vs. the Bears?

Kyle Monangai rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown, while ex-Eagle D’Andre Swift picked up 125 yards and a score. In total, the Bears ran for 281 yards on the ground to win the Black Friday game.

Ex-NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho pointed out several issues with Philadelphia’s offense. He said on X, ‘The Eagles offense: Lacks complexity, Lacks variation, Lacks explosiveness, Lacks eye manipulation, Lacks urgency. Everything a good offense needs, it currently lacks. #FlyEaglesFly.’

Acho’s statement resonates as the Eagles rank 16th overall in PFSN’s Offensive Impact Metric. According to the metric, Philadelphia ranks 25th in 3rd- and 4th-down conversion rate. The Bears bullied Philadelphia’s defensive front for a massive win at Lincoln Financial Field.

Throughout the game, Chicago’s defense kept Sirianni’s offense in check.

Four plays after Bears Quarterback Caleb Williams threw a third-quarter interception, Chicago’s defense forced a turnover on down against the tush push. Cornerback Nahshon Wright ripped the ball from Quarterback Jalen Hurts, which is pretty rare when the Eagles run that play.

The Bears’ offense went on to put together a 12-play, 92-yard touchdown drive after Philadelphia failed to gain momentum from Kevin Byard’s interception two plays before. Philadelphia was met with boos, reflecting the frustration with a talented team not playing up to its potential.

Eagles Fans React to Loss in Week 13

Eagle fans took to X to sound off on Sirianni after Philadelphia’s home loss to Chicago. Of course, some of the reactions were pretty fierce. One user, @Pg_era24, didn’t mince words and said, “Lol this is crazy, Nick Sirianni needs to be fired.”

The criticism didn’t stop there; more users pulled no punches, going after Sirianni and the offense. Another user @BoutThemBirds said, “You gotta fire Sirianni & get a HC who’s an actual play caller in here to stop this constant chaos. Can’t waste this roster. Now that the defensive side is stable with Fangio, you gotta stabilize the offensive side. This is beyond sickening.”

Another user @paptuii said, “Nick sirianni is suppose to be a top coach but can’t make changes when it’s needed. On that note, fire Sirianni and Patullo!”

Fans criticized Sirianni’s playcalling and lack of adjustments from the game and offense in general. A glaring hole in the game plan was that Philadelphia could not stop misdirection runs. Swift and Monangai consistently chunked huge gains from spotting cutback lanes.

Is Nick Sirianni’s Job Actually in Jeopardy?

Despite the aggressive criticism, the front office has not indicated that Sirianni’s job is in jeopardy after the loss. Sirianni still boasts respectable career records of 56-24 in the regular season and 6-3 in the postseason, according to Statmuse.

Additionally, he led Philadelphia to two Super Bowls (2022, 2024), losing the first to the Kansas City Chiefs and then winning the second against the same team. Sirianni has been good from the beginning of his tenure as Philadelphia’s Head Coach.

According to PFSN’s Playoff Predictor, the loss doesn’t jeopardize their playoff chances, but the two straight losses are opening a door for them to lose their grip on the NFC East. Despite a 97.5% chance of making the playoffs heading into the Black Friday game, the offense didn’t do much to quell concerns.

After dropping 21 points in the first half against the Cowboys in Week 12, Philadelphia went without a touchdown until the third quarter in Week 13 against the Bears. During the Black Friday game, Chicago overtook Philadelphia for the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles will have nine full days to regroup before their next road game. They will head to California to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14 on Dec. 8. The game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET.
