What Did Post Malone Do During His Halftime Show That Won Over Fans?

Malone is a Dallas native and has been a vocal supporter of his favorite NFL team. It isn’t just Malone’s hometown team; his father worked at the Cowboys stadium in concessions.

When Malone first broke into the music scene, it was primarily as a rapper; however, he isn’t thrilled with being typecast. Malone is proud to blend genres such as hip hop, rock, pop, and now country.

In fact, many fans are disappointed in his shift to more of a country sound and took to social media to make their feelings known. Yet, that didn’t stop them from giving him credit for deciding to pay homage to Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.

Kneeland tragically took his own life just a few weeks ago at the age of 24. Malone wore a blue “94” pin on his jacket, which was a reference to Kneeland’s jersey number. During his performance, Malone pointed to the sky and shouted, “We love you 94!”

One fan noted how much this touched them, “Post Malone showing love to Marshawn Kneeland.”

“Post Malone wears ’94’ pin to honor Marshawn Kneeland during his halftime performance,” noted another fan on X.

Another shared their own tribute, “Post Malone with a 94 pin in honor of Marshawn Kneeland. Long Live MK94.”

The crying face emoji was a popular one as fans are still processing their grief over Kneeland’s tragic death.

“Post Malone taking the stage now for the Cowboys halftime show, fitted with a #94 pin in honor of Marshawn Kneeland,” wrote another on X.

While the music itself may not have won many fans, there was no shortage of those who respected Malone’s tribute.

Kneeland, who had just scored his first NFL touchdown off a blocked punt just a few days before, left behind a pregnant girlfriend as well as the rest of his family. Catalina Mancera, his partner, told law enforcement that Kneeland had struggled with his mental health.

With the Thanksgiving win, the Cowboys advance to 6-5-1 on the season so far.
