Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner Follow Aryna Sabalenka and Others As They Share Their Departure for the Maldives

Thanks to its calm horizons, shimmering blue waters, and exclusive island resorts, the Maldives has emerged as a prime offseason haven for tennis stars, especially after the rigors of the tennis calendar.

Recently, World No. 1 Sabalenka made her way to the Maldives, enjoying beach volleyball sessions, sunset dinners with her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis, and leisurely dips to unwind.

Moreover, Russian star and former US Open champion Medvedev has also been spotted at tennis-themed luxury resorts in the Maldives, which regularly host elite players during the offseason. The Russian star frequently shares glimpses of his relaxing getaway with his wife and daughters, offering fans a peek into his off-court life.

Latvian tennis star Jelena Ostapenka also savored her time in the idyllic island nation, sharing highlights of her adventures on social media. In the wake of the pictures circulating online, Bouchard shared her reaction on X. She wrote, “Are tennis players only allowed to vacation in the Maldives?”

Recently, German star Zverev shared an Instagram story featuring his on-court rival Sinner. Both appeared to be on a flight, with Zverev’s caption making their destination apparent.

“I guess its Maldives season for everyone hu?” He questioned.

A Look at Zverev and Sinner’s Journey in 2025

While Grand Slams and other major titles largely eluded Zverev, he enjoyed a solid 2025 season, finishing with a 55–25 win-loss record and clinching the ATP 500 crown in Munich earlier in the year.

Thanks to a solid season, Zverev earned a spot at the ATP Finals in Turin, though he ultimately fell short of expectations. The World No. 3 began brightly with a straight-set victory over American rising star Ben Shelton, but he stumbled in his next match, losing 4–6, 3–6 to Sinner. A hard-fought clash against underdog Félix Auger-Aliassime ended 4–6, 6–7(7), bringing his tournament run to an early close.

Meanwhile, Sinner enjoyed a phenomenal season, capturing an impressive six tour-level titles. The Italian claimed two Grand Slam crowns at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, triumphed at the ATP 500 in Beijing and the ATP 250 in Vienna, lifted the Masters 1000 trophy in Paris, and capped off his year by winning the ATP Finals in Turin.

World No. 2 Sinner was flawless at the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, defeating Auger-Aliassime, Zverev, Shelton, Alex De Minaur, and archrival Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets to successfully defend his title and finish the season on a high note.
