The Detroit Lions barely escaped a scare in Week 12 against the struggling New York Giants, thanks to a career-best performance from star running back Jahmyr Gibbs.
Despite Jameis Winston keeping the Giants in the game, it was Gibbs’ game-winning rushing touchdown in overtime that sealed the 34-27 victory for Detroit, leaving fans in awe of his talent.

The Giants entered the game with one of the weakest run defenses in the league, and the Lions capitalized on it from the start. Gibbs carried the ball 13 times in the first half alone, generating 96 total yards, including a 61-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Moments later, he caught a short pass from Jared Goff for another touchdown, keeping the Giants on their heels. The Giants responded with a fourth-quarter trick play to briefly take a 10-point lead, but Detroit answered with a touchdown and a field goal to force overtime.
Gibbs then finished off his masterpiece on the second snap of overtime with a 69-yard game-winning sprint to the end zone, capping 264 total yards from scrimmage, 219 of them on the ground.

Heading into Week 12, Gibbs was ranked 11th among running backs in PFSN’s RB Impact metric. Sunday’s performance will likely boost that ranking significantly, though it was a nightmare for fantasy managers facing him.
