Rams Announce $22,500,000 Decision Ahead of SNF Matchup vs. Buccaneers

The Rams make a major contract decision to lock in a key player ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the Buccaneers.

The Los Angeles Rams sit atop the NFC West with an 8-2 record, fueled by a roster packed with talent. Yet amidst the stars, linebacker Nate Landman has emerged as one of the team’s most crucial stories.

Earlier this year, Landman’s spot on the active roster wasn’t even guaranteed. Now, he has cemented himself as a top performer for the defense. Recognizing his impact, the Rams have moved quickly to reward Landman’s impressive play with a significant financial commitment.

Why Did the Rams Reward Nate Landman Now?

Just last March, Landman signed a one-year contract worth the minimum salary of $1.1 million. At the time, it was unclear if Los Angeles viewed him as a starter. However, he not only cracked the lineup but also became a core piece of the unit, prompting the organization to ensure he remains in the lineup for the foreseeable future.

The 27-year-old linebacker’s NFL path has been defined by resilience. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2022, signing with the Atlanta Falcons. He performed well enough in training camp to make the team’s 53-man roster, eventually playing significant snaps for Atlanta.

But the 2025 campaign with the Rams has been his true breakout. After earning starting responsibilities, Landman has turned heads across the league, currently ranking number four on PFSN’s LB Impact list.

He has become indispensable to the Rams’ defense, tallying 1.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, four passes defensed, and 91 total tackles through the 10 games he has played. Given this production, the Rams rewarded the rising linebacker with a three-year, $22.5 million contract that includes $15.67 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This agreement represents a massive raise compared to what Landman has earned previously in his career. His ascent from going undrafted in 2022 to securing a multi-year extension serves as a testament to how consistent effort pays off in the NFL.

Now, the Rams turn their attention to Sunday’s clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although Landman was limited in the first two practices of the week, raising questions about his availability, he returned to full participation on Friday.

With his status cleared and a life-changing contract signed, Landman will look to bring extra energy to Sunday Night Football as he tries to disrupt the Buccaneers’ offense.
