American tennis star and Buffalo Bills heiress Jessica Pegula reacted to a hilarious revelation about the sport made by the team’s renowned quarterback, Josh Allen. Pegula hails from a prominent business family. Her billionaire parents, Terry and Kim Pegula, acquired the famous NFL team for a staggering $1.4 billion in 2014.

Pegula had a decent run in 2025, marked by three tour-level titles and a 53-23 win-loss record. Courtesy of an impressive performance, the American also qualified for the WTA Finals in Riyadh and entered the Stefanie Graf Group. She started her campaign with a grueling triumph over compatriot Coco Gauff, but fell to World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the second group-stage match.
After an easy straight-set win over Italy’s Jasmine Paolini, Pegula secured a place in the semifinals of the coveted event. However, she couldn’t overcome the eventual champion, Elena Rybakina, and fell 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.
While she is away from professional tennis during the offseason, Pegula remains closely connected to the ever-compelling world of football. The 31-year-old also celebrated quarterback Josh Allen becoming the NFL’s all-time leader in total touchdowns among players aged 30 or younger on Sunday, November 16. The Buffalo Bills sealed a 44–32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Allen’s contribution proving decisive.
A recent Instagram clip showed Allen candidly describing how demanding the sport is, even joking that football is “made for sickos.” The video then cuts to Allen fighting his way through defenders before ultimately being brought down with the ball.
“This is a tough sport. It’s not for everybody. You gotta be a little sick to love this game. And, we got some sickos,” he said.
The video quickly caught Pegula’s attention, and she reposted it to her Instagram story, adding three laughing emojis.

As noted, Jessica Pegula comes from a prominent business lineage. Her father, Terry Pegula, founded East Resources Inc. in 1983 and built it into a dominant energy enterprise, later selling the company to Royal Dutch Shell for a whopping $4.7 billion in 2010. Four years later, Terry Pegula closed another major deal with American Energy Partners in 2014.
However, Terry’s ambitions didn’t end there. He moved into sports and real estate, eventually establishing Pegula Sports and Entertainment. Their passion for sports drove the Pegulas to acquire the Buffalo Sabres, and in 2014, they secured the Buffalo Bills in a landmark $1.4 billion deal.
Jessica Pegula may not be directly involved in the family’s business operations, but she stands firmly behind the family’s business, which also explains her unwavering support for the Bills.
