Coco Gauff’s younger brother, Codey, took center stage in the family this week as he signed his letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Missouri. The moment drew an outpouring of pride from parents Candi and Corey, who celebrated their son’s achievement with heartfelt messages.
Coco Gauff’s Parents Pen Messages for Mizzou-Bound Codey Gauff
The milestone adds another chapter to the Gauff family’s athletic story. Codey, the middle child, has been carving out his own lane on the baseball diamond while Coco rose through the global tennis ranks. Playing high-level high school baseball with Elite Squad Academy, Codey’s skills on the field have now earned him a coveted spot with Mizzou’s NCAA Division I program beginning in 2026.
For a household built on sports, the achievement fit naturally. Both parents competed in college athletics: Corey played basketball at Georgia State University, and Candi excelled in track and field at Florida State University. Their three children were encouraged to choose one sport during their growing-up years. Coco found her stride in tennis, Codey gravitated to baseball, and their youngest, Cameron, tried his hand at football and tennis.
Candi led the family’s celebration with a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing several photos from the signing ceremony surrounded by relatives and close friends. She captioned her post, “We are proud of you!!! Congratulations on the official signing of your letter of intent to play baseball at Mizzou University!”
“Remember to keep God first, make the right choices, and always remember I will always be your #1 fan and forever your mom. You can always call me no matter the time or situation.”

Corey echoed that emotion in the comments, applauding the effort that brought Codey to this point. “Son so proud of you and the work you consistently put in your craft this is a next chapter new start and your dreams and goals remain in tact and in front of you Love you man,” he wrote.

How Did Coco Gauff’s 2025 WTA Finals Campaign Unfold?
On the tennis front, Coco recently concluded her 2025 season after her WTA Finals exit. She entered the year-end Finals as the third seed and was placed in the Stefanie Graf Group alongside Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, and Jasmine Paolini. Her campaign started with a tough three-set loss to close friend and former doubles partner Pegula, putting her under early pressure.
In the second round-robin match, she rebounded by defeating Paolini in straight sets, keeping her semifinal hopes alive. However, in her final group match, Gauff fell to World No. 1 Sabalenka in a tight first-set tiebreak before losing in two sets overall.
With a 1-2 group-stage record, Gauff finished third and was eliminated. The exit also marked the close of her 2025 season, a year highlighted by her French Open triumph but capped with an early finish at the year-end championships.
