Lorenzo Musetti’s emotional triumph at the 2025 ATP Finals in Turin turned into a heartwarming family moment when his pregnant girlfriend, Veronica Confalonieri, was seen in tears after his stunning victory. Making his debut at the prestigious year-end event as a late replacement for Novak Djokovic, the Italian earned his first ATP Finals win and also dedicated it to his growing family in a touching on-court tribute.
Lorenzo Musetti’s Unexpected Ticket to the ATP Finals
Musetti’s journey to the Finals had already been dramatic. The 23-year-old missed out on direct qualification after losing to Djokovic in the final of the Hellenic Championship in Athens just days earlier. However, fate intervened when the Serbian legend withdrew from the Finals due to a shoulder injury, giving Musetti a last-minute ticket to compete in his home country.
Drawn into the Jimmy Connors Group alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur, Musetti faced the challenge head-on. Though he stumbled in his opener against Fritz, falling 6-3, 6-4, he roared back with a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 victory over de Minaur in a two-hour, 47-minute marathon. The hard-fought win, played in front of a roaring Turin crowd, marked his first ATP Finals victory.
“This victory will take a special place in my heart,” Musetti told reporters after the match. “I dedicate it to Leandro, who will be the second arrival in the family and will be born soon; I dedicate it to him in advance.”
His partner, Veronica, who watched every point courtside, couldn’t hold back tears as Musetti sealed the win. TennisTV later shared a clip of her emotional reaction on Instagram, showing her applauding and wiping her eyes as her partner celebrated his milestone moment.

How Has Veronica Confalonieri Supported Musetti On and Off the Court?
Musetti went public with his relationship with Veronica Confalonieri on Instagram in December 2022. Veronica, who is a Milan-based graphic designer who works for Sky Italia, has been a regular presence at Musetti’s matches ever since. They welcomed their first child, a son named Ludovico, in March 2024. In May 2025, the pair announced they were expecting their second child, due later in 2025.
Although not married, Lorenzo and Veronica share a close and supportive relationship, often posting family moments online while keeping their private life largely out of the public eye. They currently reside in Monte Carlo, balancing life on tour with raising their young family.
Looking ahead, with a 1-1 record, Musetti remains in contention but must beat Alcaraz in his final group matchĀ to have a chance at reaching the semifinals.
