The Baltimore Ravens are streaking after a disastrous start to the season. They have three straight wins after starting 1-5. Lamar Jackson returned to the field and has made his impact felt. It hasn’t been the prettiest of football from Baltimore, but they are winning games. It helps to have a running back as great as Derrick Henry on the team.
In Week 10 against the Vikings, Henry reached a big milestone that exemplifies his greatness in the NFL.
Derrick Henry’s Newest Milestone
Henry is the all-time leader in rushing yards for high school. Throughout his four years of high school, Henry ran for 12,124 yards, averaging over 3,000 yards per season.
He was a force in high school, in college, and now in the NFL. He has now passed that high school total of 12,124 yards in the NFL.
With his 73rd rushing yard Sunday, Derrick Henry’s NFL career total has surpassed his four-year high school rushing mark (12,124).

When Henry notched his 73rd rushing yard of the day, he officially passed his rushing totals from high school. He is averaging over 1,000 rushing yards per season. With today’s performance, he has now passed two more Hall of Famers on the all-time rush yards list. Steelers legend Franco Harris and Bills legend Thurman Thomas had illustrious careers, and Henry has stamped his name ahead of these two Hall of Famers.
In fact, Henry is now 15th all-time in career rushing yards. In his 10 NFL seasons, he has rushed for over 1,000 yards in six of them and will likely make it seven in 2025. He also came up just short despite playing only eight games before an injury cut his season short.
Henry is the 15th-ranked running back in PFSN’s RB Impact score with a grade of 79.8. He was dominant in their Week 1 opener against the Bills, but hasn’t quite found that same form since. He’s still been more than serviceable for Baltimore. If they can get more out of Henry and get him running like early in the year, the Ravens could make a run at the playoffs and complete an unlikely season turnaround.
Henry’s high school record is actually under threat by a current high school running back. Myles McLaughlin, from Indiana, has a few games left to take the record from Henry. McLaughlin will need to be absolutely dominant in the rest of his season to become the record holder, but he has a chance and not many have even come close to Henry’s ridiculous high school production.
Henry is a force to be reckoned with and always has been. Today was just a reminder of the player he is, and that he will be headed to Canton when he decides to call it a career.
