Indianapolis Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon is quickly becoming a fan favorite among NFL fans. While most owners prefer staying in a luxury suite, Irsay-Gordon stands out.
Ahead of the Colts’ Week 10 international game against the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, she went viral after surprising fans with a wholesome treat that most NFL owners wouldn’t even think of.
What Did Colts Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon do in Berlin?
Irsay-Gordon officially took control of the franchise in 2025 following the passing of her father, Jim Irsay. From the start, she’s operated differently from most NFL owners.
Instead of watching games from a private box, she’s been spotted on the sideline with a headset and call sheet, listening in on live communication between coaches and players to understand how decisions are made.
On Saturday night in Berlin, she brought that same energy to the fans on the eve of the game. With the Colts preparing to play in the NFL’s first-ever Berlin game, Irsay-Gordon stepped into a crowded bar filled with Colts supporters and maybe even a few curious locals who may have never watched an NFL game before.
She grabbed a megaphone at the bar and surprised people with an announcement of free drinks in the local language, German, before switching to English. “This round is on me guys. Go Colts!”

A fan near the front even appreciated her for saying it in German, drawing an even bigger cheer from the bar. It was a simple gesture, but also a perfect one as the Colts and the NFL look to win over fans overseas.
NFL Fans React to Irsay-Gordon’s Gesture in Berlin
Once the Colts’ social media posted the clip, it went viral, and NFL fans couldn’t stop raving about Irsay-Gordon’s gesture. One fan summed up the general mood: “We have the coolest owner in the league. Literally!”

Another said what most fanbases were thinking: “Owners truly could be the coolest people ever and somehow Carlie is the only cool one, shoutout the Colts.”
Many pointed out that she’s redefining what it means to run a franchise: “Best owner in sports,” one said, while another added, “Best NFL owner. She’s on the field, knows the players, cares about the fans. Let’s go Colts!”
Fans from other teams even admitted they were jealous: “I am so jealous of Indy fans. Y’all are in great hands.” with another echoing the feeling: “You Colts fans are so lucky. We’re stuck with our owner — not even close.”
And with Colts supporters taking over Berlin, one fan posted a first-hand reaction live from Germany: “She’s off to a great start as the owner. I’m here in Berlin with my son. Lots of Germans wearing Colts swag around the city. It’s great to see.”
Another declared, “Best owner in the NFL crown remains in Indy.”

The Colts currently hold a 7-2 record, and according to PFSN’s NFL Football Playoff Meter (FPM), Indianapolis enters Week 10 with a 95% chance to make the playoffs. They also have a 65.2% chance of reaching the Divisional Round and a 19.1% chance of making the AFC Championship.
While Indy continues to dominate on the field, its owner is doing her bit by securing wins off the gridiron.
