The Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver, Jayden Reed, has been missing from the field for the past several weeks due to injuries. The Packers star has been healing quickly, and a recent report suggests he could return to action sooner than fans are expecting.
Jayden Reed Underwent Two Surgeries
Reed suffered a foot injury during training camp. To make his condition worse, the wide receiver broke his collarbone in Week 2’s game against the Washington Commanders while trying to catch the ball.
As reported by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Packers star underwent two surgeries for his injuries. Although his foot is now completely healed, his collarbone still requires additional time.
Reed’s absence was already a big blow to Packers fans, but an even bigger hit came recently when a torn ACL ended tight end Tucker Kraft’s season.
However, Silverstein’s report brings some relief to Packers fans, as it includes a major update on Reed’s comeback, which could be as soon as Thanksgiving.
Packers Wide Receiver to Return Against Lions?
According to reports, the Packers plan to bring their star wide receiver back to the field either on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, against the Detroit Lions, or on Dec. 7 against the Chicago Bears.
Green Bay’s offense, currently ranked fifth in PFSN’s Offense Impact, has been performing impressively this season. But after losing their phenomenal yards-after-catch weapon, Kraft, for the season, they need support. If Reed returns on Thanksgiving, it could make a huge difference for their offensive unit.
Both the division rivals, the Lions and the Bears, are playing confidently this year, each with five wins, and it will be interesting to see if Reed can return to the field and help the team maintain its momentum. Reed had an incredible performance last season, especially in the first 10 matches. Returning fresh and well-rested, fans are hopeful the receiver can create a big impact this year as well.
But before that, the Packers have to play three more games without two of their best offensive players. They are set to host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, Nov. 10. They’ll face the Giants on Nov. 16 and the Vikings on Nov. 23.
Their next opponent, the Eagles, have been impressive this season, winning six of their eight games so far, and will definitely give the Packers a tough challenge, making them wish Reed and Kraft were on the field.
