Bruins Fans Left Distraught As $54.25M Star Picks Up Lower-Body Injury Ruling Him Out for Weeks

While the Bruins secured a hard-fought victory, an injury to a top-six center quickly dampened the celebration among Boston fans.

The Boston Bruins have had a turbulent start to their season so far. While they opened their campaign with a winning run of three games, they soon crumbled, dropping six games in a row, which pushed them to the bottom of the Atlantic Division.

While some quick victories have pushed them back to the middle of the pack, they suffered another massive blow in their game against the Sabres. One of their core centers had to leave the game after their latest overtime victory, and the fans are totally distraught over this.

What Are the Bruins Fans Saying About the Injury to Elias Lindholm?

The Bruins entered the game on Thursday with a chip on their shoulder. They had already dropped seven of their last nine games, and if they didn’t win against Buffalo, they would’ve fallen to the bottom of the division.

However, despite getting the hard-fought victory over the Sabres in overtime, the Bruins’ mood was quickly spoiled as center Elias Lindholm had to leave the ice in OT due to lower-body injuries. The forward had to be carried off after a collision with Jordan Greenway.

Head coach Marco Strum quickly confirmed the fans’ worst fears as he mentioned, “He’s having an MRI today. He’s going to be out for at least a few weeks.” With Lindholm out of action for the next couple of weeks, the Bruins have lost a core part of their forward group, and the fans are already worried.

One fan mentioned, “Well, something needs to change ASAP as the B’s are The Worst team in the league right now! AWFUL Team!” They believe that with Boston playing probably their worst hockey in ages, Strum needs to find a strategy quickly.

Others, meanwhile, hoped that Lindholm would be back soon. With nine points (four goals, five assists), he remains one of their best point scorers. One fan mirrored this feeling, posting, “I really hope that he can be fine soon and it isn’t a big deal.”

Another group of fans believes that all hope is lost already. With the Bruins already struggling with a massive losing streak and now with one of their best players gone, Boston’s faithful don’t have much trust left in their team.

One supporter even called for the season to end, tweeting, “Just cancel the season already.” While some believe that the season is still young, others aren’t seeing much hope with Lindholm gone. A separate group of fans, meanwhile, is feeling bad for the head coach.

They believe that just when Strum thought that the Bruins had gotten back-to-back wins, this injury happened. “This poor guy can’t catch a break,” wrote one. Lindholm had just signed a seven-year, $54.25 million deal last year. However, with this injury, his future is uncertain.
