Falcons Trade Rumors: Atlanta Could Add $33,000,000 WR Ahead of Deadline

Atlanta Falcons’ offense needs a boost after a sluggish Week 8 loss, and a potential AFC West trade target could be the spark they need.

The Atlanta Falcons’ offense could use some reinforcements after an apathetic Week 8 performance against the Miami Dolphins, where they were defeated 34-10.

In that contest, they had 213 total yards on offense, with 168 of those yards coming from passing. Kyle Pitts led the team in receiving with nine catches for 59 yards.

Atlanta Falcons Receiving Corps Moves and Injuries

The Falcons have had their own issues with their wide receiver core, releasing Ray-Ray McCloud III on Oct. 21. Head coach Raheem Morris explained the reason for McCloud’s release in a press conference some time after saying, “There was nothing disciplinary. I’ve seen all that stuff. It’s just based on performance.”

McCloud hadn’t been very effective in the offense, with six receptions for 64 yards in four games with the Falcons, though he missed two games at the decision of coach Morris.

Health has been a factor in the Falcons’ wide receiver room as Drake London was ruled out of last Sunday’s game against the Dolphins due to a hip injury. His status for their Week 9 matchup vs the New England Patriots is currently unknown.

The offense needs a spark, especially at wide receiver. And there’s an AFC West receiver who could provide that.

Falcons May Add a Potential Playmaker Via Trade

The NFL trade deadline is in November, and many teams are looking to improve their roster. With the Falcons’ offense not playing up to par, Las Vegas Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers. Meyers requested a trade back in Aug. 2025, after a new contract was not finalized. The Raiders signed him to a three-year deal in 2023 worth $33 million ($21 million guaranteed), but they have yet to extend it as it’s the final year of the contract.

During an after-practice media session, Meyers was asked if he still wanted to be traded, and he responded, saying, “Oh, for sure.”

He also said, “I’m a professional at the end of the day. I’m just trying to play good football.” Meyers reiterated that wherever he is, he wants to play good football.

Things have been a bit chaotic for Las Vegas, which is 2-5 and in last place in the AFC West. The team hasn’t looked well overall or on offense. They’ve had three games where they haven’t scored more than 10 points. Personnel changes seem to be looming.

Meyers is a good route runner whose footwork helps him create separation at a high level. He can contribute immediately to the Falcons’ offense. The seven-year veteran has 29 catches for 329 yards so far this season.
