Buccaneers GM Jason Licht Takes Brutal Shot at Saints’ Cameron Jordan After Blowout Win in Week 8

Bucs GM Jason Licht didn’t hold back after the team’s dominant win over the Saints, taking a shot at Cameron Jordan for his past Tom Brady dig.

Despite a long list of injuries, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to roll. They crushed the New Orleans Saints 23–3 on Sunday to seize control of the NFC South, while their rivals slid to the bottom of the standings. After the game, Bucs GM Jason Licht kept the rivalry alive by taking a pointed shot at Saints DE Cameron Jordan, adding more fuel to one of the NFC’s most heated matchups.

Jason Licht Trolls Cameron Jordan Over Old Tom Brady Comment

After Tampa Bay’s dominant 23–3 victory, Licht took a subtle but brutal shot at Jordan. He shared an old video of Jordan from a few years ago, when the veteran mocked Tom Brady’s retirement and suggested the Bucs would fall without him.

“We’re glad he’s out of the division,” Jordan said of Brady. “Tampa Bay will probably go back to… where Tampa Bay has been.

Licht didn’t forget those words. Alongside the clip, he added Jordan’s Week 8 stat line, which is zeros across the board, except for one lonely tackle.

The moment added more spice to one of the NFC’s longest and most bitter rivalries. Earlier in the day, during the Buccaneers Radio Network pregame show, Licht made his feelings clear, saying, “I don’t think I need to tell you how much I despise this team.”

The Bucs and Saints have been battling for decades, and that animosity isn’t fading anytime soon. While the Saints still lead the all-time series 40–28, the Buccaneers have taken control lately, winning four of the last five matchups and showing no signs of slowing down.

Coming off a tough loss to the Detroit Lions, the Buccaneers bounced back in style against New Orleans. Tampa Bay’s defense forced four turnovers, kicker Chase McLaughlin nailed three field goals from beyond 50 yards, and Baker Mayfield delivered another sharp performance: efficient, composed, and mistake-free.

The win sends the Buccaneers into their bye week on a high note, sitting two games clear at the top of the NFC South. Their upcoming stretch includes showdowns with the Patriots, Bills, and Rams, a crucial run that could further cement their playoff standing.

Meanwhile, the Saints continue to spiral. At 1–7, they’ve been one of the NFL’s biggest disappointments, struggling mightily on offense that ranks 29th in PFSN’s Offensive Impact metric. Spencer Rattler has failed to impress, and rookie QB Tyler Shough, seeing his first meaningful action of the season, completed just 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards with an interception and a lost fumble.

New Orleans has been held to 19 points or fewer in six of eight games, and without stability under center, their offense has failed to sustain drives or finish possessions. The Saints will look to regroup in upcoming games against the Rams and Panthers before heading into their Week 11 bye.
