What Is the Halftime Show at the Packers-Steelers Game?

Bret Michaels, the iconic frontman of the rock band Poison, will perform during halftime of the Steelers’ primetime matchup, the team and Michaels announced on Friday, October 25, 2025. Michaels, a Butler County native and lifelong Steelers fan, revealed the news on Facebook and shared his excitement in a video.

Wearing sunglasses and a Pittsburgh Pirates hat, he said, “My friends, I am so excited to be back in Pittsburgh. It’s going to be nothing but a good time at halftime on NBC Sunday Night Football. In the plaza, we’re bringing a party.”

However, the rocker isn’t just performing for the fans. He also invites people with diabetes, active-duty military personnel, and veterans to join him on stage. Michaels, who is diabetic and the son of a veteran, explained his personal connection to the gesture. “We’re gonna bring all of our diabetic friends, all of our unbelievable military, active duty, and veterans to join me on stage,” he said. “We’re gonna make this special.”

Fans can also expect a dose of nostalgia during the performance. Michaels plans to perform Poison’s hit “Nothin’ But A Good Time,” singing live to a special studio track prepared for the event. The halftime show will also feature a City of Pittsburgh Police Color Guard, and the brass section of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform the National Anthem.

Michaels’ connection to Western Pennsylvania and his Steelers fandom runs deep. He grew up in Mechanicsburg and frequently posts about the team on social media.

In a 2011 interview with Steelers.com, he joked about his devotion, saying, “People say I am a little Steelers crazy, I just say that I am a fan. Some joke that I really might have black and gold in my veins.” His presence at team events is not new, as he attended training camp at Saint Vincent College last summer and appeared during the team’s Salute to Service matchup against the Ravens last season.

Packers-Steelers Preview

While Michaels gets ready to rock the North Shore, the Steelers are focused on a tough matchup. Pittsburgh will face a Packers team that has won two straight games and sits at 4-1-1 through Week 7. The Steelers, on the other hand, are looking to bounce back after a nail-biting 33-31 road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last week.

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love will face the Steelers in Pittsburgh, adding another layer to the contest. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025. For the occasion, Pittsburgh will don its 1933 throwback jerseys for the “Forged in Pittsburgh Origin Game,” adding a historic flair to the primetime clash.

With a hometown rock legend on the halftime stage and a critical matchup for the Steelers, this Week 8 Sunday Night Football showdown promises fireworks both on and off the field.
