What Did Jannik Sinner Say to His Girlfriend Laila Hasanovic and His Parents in Vienna?

The event is extra special for Sinner — he was born just a few miles from the Austrian border, in Italy’s South Tyrol region. Thanks to the proximity to his home country, the players’ parents, who rarely attend his tournaments, often make their presence felt in Vienna.

Sinner’s father, Hanspeter, and his mother, Siglinde, were spotted on the tournament grounds across the week with a few other family members. Another addition to the group this time was his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic. The four-time Grand Slam champion appeared to make his relationship official during his victory speech as he mentioned his partner alongside his parents.

“Everyone here, with my family, my girlfriend, friends… my whole team watching, also those watching at home. Thank you so much for the support,” he said.

Hasanovic is a Danish model who has walked the runway for luxury fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani and Tommy Hilfiger. The 24-year-old was previously in a relationship with racing driver Mick Schumacher. Sinner, meanwhile, confirmed that he and fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya had ended their relationship earlier this year.

Hasanovic met the Italian’s parents earlier this week and was seated near his mother during the final, while his father sat with his coaching team in the player’s box. During the speech, Sinner also thanked his team for their efforts.

“To my team, I have to speak in English. Thank you so much for the support. The work you put in, the effort — also to understand me at times is not easy,” he said.

Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev To Shift Focus to Paris Masters After Vienna Final

Sinner and Zverev are expected to compete in Paris after their final in Vienna. The final Masters 1000 event of the season begins on Monday, October 27, with the duo being the second and third seeds, respectively. They have received a bye in the opening round.

Zverev is the defending champion at the tournament, while Sinner has no points to defend, courtesy of his withdrawal last season. It remains to be seen if the Italian, who appeared to struggle with a thigh discomfort on Sunday, contests the title in Paris before his title defense at the ATP Finals in Turin.
