Terry Rozier made shocking headlines on Thursday morning after being arrested for his alleged role in a federal sports betting and money laundering investigation. He is reportedly being charged with two cases of conspiracy, one to commit wire fraud and another to commit money laundering.
Many around the sports world have chimed in their takes on this developing situation, including former NFL linebacker and current analyst. He roasted the NBA star from his personal X account following the news of the allegations.

Rozier is being accused of defrauding sportsbooks by providing bettors with illegal, non-public information. He was allegedly fixing certain outcomes within games and providing prohibited advantages to those he was secretly sharing information with.
This includes apparently faking injuries and tanking performances to intentionally impact the outcome of specific bets, which Emmanuel Acho torched him for.
Acho commented on the alleged fake injuries, saying, “Oh, it’s over for Terry Rozier, over! Dude checked out the game after 9 minutes.”

A statement following the arrest claims that Rozier informed a select group of bettors that he would leave a game early with an apparent injury. This resulted in them betting on his total to go under the listed line, which cashed for thousands of dollars.
Acho pointed out the apparent tanking, saying, “They saying Terry Rozier was out there throwing games in plain sight.”

The video he shared included an inferior performance with questionable decisions in a game between the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. Rozier is seen making awful turnovers and completely missing on several of his shot attempts.

The former NFL linebacker believes that they will make an example out of him in an attempt to crack down on any other illegal activity related to fixing sports betting outcomes. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, this operation has been ongoing for years and is directly tied to organized crime.
Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, a former NBA star, was also arrested in relation to the same scandal. Gambling violations have also been an issue in the NFL, with suspensions handed down to stars like Jameson Williams and Calvin Ridley, among others, in recent years. However, neither of them was criminally charged.
