Since 2011, one end of the defensive line in New Orleans has been solidified by Cameron Jordan. Drafted 24th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, Jordan has been all that the Saints could have asked for and so much more, both on and off the field. While he may be content to stay with the team he loves, Jordan is 37 and certainly would like to play for a Super Bowl again before he retires.
Jordan has played in 232 games, not missing a single one, and in that time, he has compiled 124 sacks and made eight Pro Bowls. While this season has gone according to the expectations of most in New Orleans, gaining some assets for some veterans could prove beneficial in this rebuild. Players like Jordan and Alvin Kamara have been loyal to the organization, and the team has been equally, but it wouldn’t be right to not at least explore where he may be a fit around the league.
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears play in a tough division, yet still sit just a half-game behind the rival Green Bay Packers as they have now won four straight. They are doing this without a player in the top 40 on our PFSNi EDGE Rankings. Being able to put some pressure on the quarterback will allow them to force some more turnovers and make everyone else’s jobs on the defense easier. Plus, adding a guy like Jordan will bring some veteran know-how to a young team and get Montez Sweat off of the constant double-teams.
Philadelphia Eagles
The defending Super Bowl Champions thought that they had the edge locked up when they signed Za’Darius Smith in the offseason. Sure enough, he told the team that he was retiring, and it put the team on the market to trade for a difference-maker on the edge. Per our PFSN Defense Impact Rankings, the Eagles had the second-ranked defense in the league last year, and this year they fell to 13th, so that the change may be a blessing in disguise, and bringing a veteran into a championship atmosphere can have great results.
San Francisco 49ers
Losing the top-rated EDGE rusher in the NFL, Nick Bosa, and his 98.8 (A+) impact score, per our PFSNi EDGE Rankings, would normally have a team panic and immediately rush a move. San Francisco has taken care of business as they sit atop the NFC West, tied with the Rams, but to make a run once the playoffs come around, they may be looking for some veteran experience on the edge to help solidify a position they are generally strong at. They will push for a division title, and beyond, but the services of Jordan would help them get that much better as they look to make a run.
Detroit Lions
While the offense looks as good as ever, the defense has taken a slight step back with the departure of Aaron Glenn for the Jets. While they have Aidan Hutchinson on one side, the rest of the line leaves much to be desired, and bringing in a veteran like Jordan across from him would go a long way towards getting their defense back to the level it was last season. As for right now, it is too easy for quality opponents to exploit the holes they have.

How they did it last year was by bringing in the aforementioned Za’Darius Smith, and he made an immediate impact, just like I think Jordan would there, too. Jordan is used to playing with another talented rusher, as they have Chase Young, but playing with Aidan Hutchinson could make his season numbers, and the Lions defensive stats, take off.
