New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller suffered an injury to his left leg during the first quarter against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler has counted on Miller to help anchor the Saints’ rushing attack, but it hasn’t worked out that way so far in the 2025 NFL season.
What Happened to Saints’ Kendre Miller?
Miller ended up going to the blue tent after reaching down toward his left leg. After going to the tent, Miller left without his helmet and started walking toward the Saints’ locker room.
So far on Sunday, Miller has only had one carry for seven yards. At the end of the first quarter, the Bears held a 3-0 lead over the Saints.
Kendre Miller walking to the locker room now. I saw him reach down at his left leg when talking to medical staff.

In the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Miller has a 69.4 RB Impact Score and grades out to a D+. Entering Sunday’s game, Miller had 46 carries for 186 yards and one touchdown. The Saints are trying to get back into the win column, but are having a tough time against Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and the Bears’ defense.
Miller was a third-round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of TCU. In his brief NFL career, Miller has 126 carries for 490 yards and three touchdowns. His longest run from scrimmage is an 18-yarder, which has happened twice for him.
He’s also proven his worth as a receiving option out of the backfield, catching 20 balls for 180 yards in his young career. Miller is a native of Mount Enterprise, Texas.
For the Saints, who are 1-5 in the 2025 NFL season, they need a victory against Chicago in the worst way on Sunday. Rattler has been trying his best to lead the Saints’ offense, but he needs all the help he can get. The Saints QB will now look to Alvin Kamara to help him for the rest of the game.
With Miller out of the game, the Saints will have to find another back to cover his ball-carrying duties. If the Saints aren’t able to take advantage of some shady weather conditions in Chicago, they’ll be going home with another loss.
New Orleans’ offense has not been good so far, getting dominated by Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, the former Saints head coach. It will be interetsing to see if things will change in the second half.
