Falcons vs. 49ers Preview
As previously alluded to, the Falcons are coming into this game with all of the momentum in the world. Buffalo started the season 4-0 and looked like the No. 1 team in the league. Now, they’ve dropped two straight to the New England Patriots and the Falcons. Running back Bijan Robinson made the Bills’ defense look silly as he ran all over the field with 19 carries for 170 yards and had six receptions for 68 yards.

Not only did Robinson look phenomenal in Week 6, but wide receiver Drake London had one of the biggest games of his career. London’s 158 receiving yards were the most he’s had since January 5, 2025, when he had 187 against the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has had no issues targeting the 24-year-old, who has back-to-back 100+ yard weeks.
The main story to watch for the 49ers is the ongoing QB Brock Purdy vs. Mac Jones battle. Jones, who’s been filling in for Purdy, has been doing enough to get the team to where they are. The return of tight end George Kittle should greatly benefit either quarterback, but Purdy’s B+ is far superior to Jones’ C+, according to PFSN’s QB Impact metric.
Last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held RB Christian McCaffrey to just 54 rushing yards. San Francisco really needs their All-Pro running back to get going as he’s yet to have a game with more than 69 rushing yards this season. In fact, he’s had more receiving yards than rushing in all but one game this season.
