North Carolina is a mess, and that’s an understatement. Bill Belichick’s divorce from the New England Patriots and the NFL hasn’t turned out the way anyone wanted, tarnishing his reputation and thrusting him into controversy. He hoped his legacy and stature would start a new chapter in UNC’s history. Instead, he and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, cannot escape criticism.
Pablo Torre dug deep behind the scenes and unearthed some shattering truths about the program and the power dynamics of this relationship. Between rumors, bombshells, and a lost Tar Heels season, the idea of UNC banning Hudson hasn’t gone away.
Pablo Torre Reveals Alleged Truth Behind Jordon Hudson’s UNC Ban Reports
The surprising twist is that someone close to Hudson had spread the rumor before it turned into a wildfire. In the latest episode of “Pablo Torre Finds Out,” Torre revealed the name of the person who first aired these false reports.
“The person who had told multiple people around the program that Jordon (Hudson) was no longer involved with the program and no longer allowed in the building was, you guessed it, North Carolina general manager Mike (Michael) Lombardi. Another advisor on Bill Belichick’s shoulder. I don’t know (for) sure whether Jordon knows that,” Torres said.
It might appear that Hudson wasn’t aware of it. If anything, this report adds another layer to the UNC troubles that recently have caught national attention, forcing Belichick to discuss his buyout and clarify his commitment.
The controversy doesn’t stop here. In the same podcast, Torre shared hot-mic clips of Hudson and Belichick discussing the conduct of the show “Coach.” It appeared Hudson wasn’t pleased with the graphics team and asked questions about the set and the show’s presentation. In addition, Torre also revealed that the crew didn’t take the interruptions well.

The same fire has now reached UNC, and the fans have already labeled her a distraction on the field, exacerbated by her sideline appearances before UNC games. Moreover, Lombardi himself is not insulated from the Tar Heels’ struggles. A 2-3 start and a humbling performance against Clemson have only added to the unrest, resulting in fans demanding his firing.
On the other hand, Belichick has come under scrutiny for his defensive plays and his team’s inconsistencies on either side of the football. So, when UNC travels this weekend to face Cal, there will be additional pressure on the team and more eyes glued to the screen. This is a full-fledged mess, and all the college football world can do is watch.
