The Los Angeles Rams have already dealt with numerous injuries this season. Going into their Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens, multiple players, including tight end Colby Parkinson, wide receiver Tutu Atwell, linebacker Omar Speights, and offensive lineman Rob Havenstein, were listed as questionable or doubtful.
Despite missing some key players, the Rams were able to hold the Ravens to a single field goal, ultimately winning the game 17-3. However, that win came with a heavy price as their star wide receiver, Puka Nacua, went down with an injury.
When Will Puka Nacua Return to the Rams Lineup?
The Rams made several offseason moves to elevate the team to legitimate contenders in 2025. One of those moves was moving Nacua to WR1 after the Rams released Cooper Kupp. Later they signed Davante Adams to be their WR2, and so far, both decisions have turned out to be pretty good for them.
Nacua’s stock soared as he quickly became one of the best receivers in the league. According to PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact metric, Nacua is ranked second in the league, only to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, with an impact score of 96.8 and an A grade.
It’s why the fans’ worry is understandable; they were upset upon seeing Nacua go down early in the second quarter. Nacua was simply trying to reel in a tough catch when he had a mid-air collision with Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey.
As soon as two players hit the ground, it was obvious something wasn’t quite right with the former fifth-round pick. Nacua was seen immediately clutching his left leg, appearing to be in pain. He remained there for quite a while before he hobbled off the field, arms slung over the shoulders of two others.
Fans were relieved to see Nacua return to the game in the second half; however, he played limited snaps and did not record any more stats. Now, news is out from Mike Garafolo on X, that Nacua will likely miss the Week 7 game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Rams WR Puka Nacua suffered a sprained ankle Sunday that puts him in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars in London, sources tell me and @RapSheet [Ian Rapoport]. The team has a bye after the Jacksonville game, so it’s looking like a few weeks before Nacua is back on the field,” posted Garafolo.

Rams HC Sean McVay provided an update on Nacua’s status on Monday. “Sean McVay said Puka Nacua will be day to day with an ankle sprain and his game status is “uncertain” for Week 7,” wrote ESPN’s Sarah Barshop on X. “McVay said Nacua “felt pretty good today” and that the medical staff was “encouraged” by the scans, but the Rams will see how the week progresses with the injury.”
This is a huge blow for the Rams and their fans as Nacua leads the league with 54 receptions. The 52 receptions he had through the first five weeks set an NFL record. He ranks second for receiving yards behind Smith-Njigba and has two touchdowns.
The Rams advanced to 4-2 with their win over the Ravens. However, they face an improved 4-2 Jaguars team when they travel across the pond, and if Nacua doesn’t play, it will be a big blow.
