The Record Indiana Brought To An End With Oregon Win

After their victory over Oregon, the Hoosiers finally managed to overcome an unfortunate record following them, as they bid to climb up the College Football rankings against Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

Going into today’s game, the Hoosiers were 0-46 against Associated Press top ten teams on the road; however, after overcoming the Ducks, who are ranked third as of the poll following week six, Curt Cignetti managed to finally shake the record.

“1-72 all-time in program history against Top 5 teams. 0-46 on the road in those spots. Dub today in one of the toughest road environments in the country, he’s unbelievable,” One fan wrote, referring to the Hoosiers’ head coach.

During the game, Cignetti went viral for a host of moments. He was seen animatedly talking to the refs after a number of penalty calls went unanswered, including a pass interference call during a crucial time in the game.

“What do you think?” Cignetti told the media when questioned at halftime, after being asked whether his show of emotion in the first half was intentional, with a deadpan smile that suggested he knew exactly what he was saying.

“Ball doesn’t lie in Indiana, Oregon. Refs trying so hard to get Oregon this win,” Another fan remarked, adding to the overall sentiment that the Hoosiers were not getting any help from the refs, still managing to earn a victory despite the fact.

Going into this game, Indiana’s quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, totaled 1,208 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, one interception, and a 197.8 passer rating, throwing for 215 yards, a touchdown, and an interception today.

“He’s come a long way, and as much as he’s improved since he’s been here, he’s far from a finished product. His upside is unlimited.” Cignetti told the media in the buildup to today’s game, as he helped lead them to victory, as well as breaking the unfortunate record.

According to the PFSN’s playoff meter, Indiana also had a 14% chance of winning the Big Ten conference going into the game; however, their odds should surely skyrocket following their victory as their miracle run continues.
