Rodman is a professional soccer player, playing as a forward for the United States national team and the Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). The 22-year-old also posted a story on Instagram celebrating Rodman’s “matchday fits.”

Before the Shanghai Masters, Shelton was scheduled to begin his run on the Asian swing of the Tour at the 2025 Japan Open, but withdrew from the tournament due to a shoulder injury he sustained at the US Open.

Following the conclusion of his campaign at the 2025 Shanghai Masters, Shelton is expected to compete in the 2025 Swiss Indoors. This tournament is scheduled to take place from October 20 to October 26, 2025, on indoor hard courts at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.
In addition to the World No. 6, players such as Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Holger Rune, Arthur Fils, Denis Shapovalov, Jakub Menšík, and João Fonseca are also expected to participate in the ATP 500 hard court tournament in Basel.
In 2024, Shelton was seeded sixth at the Swiss Indoors, and he began his campaign with a victory over Tomás Martín Etcheverry, winning 6-3, 6-4 in the first round. He then defeated wild card Stan Wawrinka with a score of 7-6(2), 7-5 in the second round.
In the quarterfinals, Shelton eliminated the top seed, Andrey Rublev, with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-4. He secured his place in the final by defeating the seventh seed, Fils, with a score of 6-3, 7-6(9) in the semifinals. In the championship match, the World No. 6 finished as the runner-up to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, losing 4-6, 6-7(4).
