New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who took over this week for veteran Russell Wilson, has been pretty solid in his start against the Los Angeles Chargers at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
But it appears that Dart might have hurt himself in some way.
What Happened to Jaxson Dart?
While watching the game, one Giants observer noted that Dart was stretching out his left leg while on the sidelines.
It did not look like Dart was receiving medical attention, yet it was something that needed to be under observation.
“Jaxson Dart, who appeared to be limping during the last series, is stretching out his left leg on the #Giants sideline while on the bench,” NFL reporter Connor Hughes posted. “No trainers are with him or anything. Not in the blue medical tent. Sitting on bench with teammates.”
Dart is off the bench and moving around gingerly on the #Giants sideline. He’s pointed toward the back of his left leg (hamstring) a couple of times. Worth monitoring.
Dart’s mobility & running a major part of #NYG‘s offensive game plan today. Saw it on the first series. Would…

Dart’s mobility has been on full display in his NFL debut. He’s certainly looked the part and like someone who could potentially be a QB1 in fantasy. If his legs are compromised at all, it would be a serious hit to his fantasy value.
And it goes without saying, any chance the Giants have to go back to Russell Wilson, operating without Malik Nabers, would not be great for the pass catchers.
Dart was replaced by Russell Wilson in the third quarter, as the rookie was being evaluated on the sidelines.
“Official Giants announcement: Jaxson Dart “has a hamstring injury” but is still playing. Now Russell Wilson is now coming into the game because the concussion spotter ID’d Dart after taking big hits on that last run,” wrote Giants insider Pat Leonard on X. “Malik Nabers with a “knee injury” is “out.”
The rookie didn’t miss much of the action as he returned to the game and threw a touchdown pass to tight end Theo Johnson.
Jaxson Dart takes it in himself for the TD!

Dart, in the first half, was 7-of-11 passing for 59 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. Giants head coach Brian Daboll made the decision to switch out from Wilson, a veteran NFL quarterback who has won a Super Bowl in his career, to Dart.
Dart was the Giants’ No. 1 draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. The fact that Dart has been elevated to the starting role at this point means that Daboll is looking for more out of his QB1 spot at this time. The season is still early, and giving Dart a chance to show what he can do is already giving Giants fans a lot of hope for the rest of this season.
