With a game ahead of him against the Cleveland Browns, NFL fans may have spotted Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown playing a video game the night before. Not only was he playing the night before, but he was caught on NBA 2K26 until nearly 5AM.
While there are plenty of reasons to believe it wasn’t St. Brown, NFL fans let their thoughts run wild on these unusual pre-game day antics.
Analyzing Amon-Ra St. Brown’s NBA 2K26 5AM Antics
A video surfaced on Overtime of someone catching St. Brown on the court in NBA 2K26. The name is clearly the same as the Lions wide receiver, though there’s no concrete evidence the 25-year-old was actually the one playing the video game. With a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff against the Browns, it seems highly unlikely that St. Brown would be playing video games into the wee hours of the night.

One fan commented, “I’d put money on it that these dudes pay people to grind on their accounts.” Ultimately, that could be the likely conclusion. In no world does it seem possible that St. Brown would be up until 4-5 a.m. the night before a game, but crazier things have happened in the NFL. If it truly was him, there’s no doubt this is something the Lions would address.
“He playing until he loses and honestly it might not be him on his account,” another fan wrote. Seeing as there’s no concrete evidence that St. Brown was the one playing, it’s safe to assume otherwise. Sure, the name may be the same, but people with money have no issue paying someone else to level up and unlock all sorts of perks and things in the game.
Once again, St. Brown is off to a stellar start with the Lions. He has 20 receptions in their first three games for 237 receiving yards. The USC graduate already has four touchdowns with three of them coming in Detroit’s 52-21 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 2. After hauling in just four passes for 45 yards in Week 1, St. Brown wasted no time getting back on track.
The Lions made a statement in Week 2 after being embarrassed by the Packers on opening weekend. Their 31-point win over Chicago couldn’t have come at a better time, and they followed it up with a stellar eight-point win over Baltimore. QB Jared Goff is once again playing extremely efficiently, one of the many reasons St. Brown has been as good as he has. As it stands, he has an A- grade in PFSN’s QB Impact.
