Which NFL Teams Are Dominating in the Red Zone in 2025?

While it may appear obvious, but scoring touchdowns in the red zone remains important. Does having success correlate to owning a winning record?

With only 30 yards of space to work with, including the 10 allotted for the end zone, the red zone remains the most crucial territory in the NFL. Many believe that championships are won and lost on the ability to cash in close to your opponent’s goal line.

As a result, some teams may even draft wideouts, based on their size or speed, who will win matchups in the area to score. Which NFL teams appear to take that notion to heart and possess the production?

Which NFL Teams Produce the Most in the Red Zone?

For defenses, the red zone presents both opportunity and headache. Suppose they can stifle a scoring chance that ultimately swings the momentum in their direction, casting doubt on the opponent’s playcalling and decision-making.

Also, they only have 30 yards to defend, which makes options a bit constricted for the offense, as they cannot truly expand the playbook due to the lack of space. In contrast, penalties and blown assignments appear to hurt more because penalties move the ball closer and slips in coverage can lead to walk-in scores.

With that said, which teams thrive from the opposing 20-yard line and closer? PFSN provides the numbers.

“The highest red-zone TD rates in the NFL this season:

📈 Eagles – 100%

📈 Steelers – 87.5%

📈 Bears – 85.7%

📈 Dolphins – 83.3%

📈 Commanders – 75.0%

📈 Jets – 75.0%

📈 Bengals – 75.0%

📈 Browns – 71.4%

📈 Lions – 68.8%

📈 Bills – 66.7%

📈 Vikings – 66.7%

The Eagles’ ability to score from close range should not surprise anyone. With the Tush Push in the arsenal, the offense can convert any short yardage into either a drive-extending first down or a drive-sealing touchdown.

Moreover, Jalen Hurts’ ability to get to the boundary pressures defenses to maintain lane integrity and not attempt to freelance on assignments. The same goes for their division rival. Jayden Daniels will tuck and run, using either the quarterback draw or RPO while just yards away from pay dirt.

While teams like the Detroit Lions’ and Minnesota Vikings’ red zone success should not shock anyone, most on the list do. For example, sitting at 0-3, the New York Jets’ and Miami Dolphins’ knack for converting at least 75% of their attempts calls into question why they do not have a single victory between them. Similarly, with just a Bears win, the Chicago Bears find the end zone almost 0% of the time when in the red zone.

Although the red zone may not be the definitive statistic when it comes to offensive efficiency, it does suggest that at least one major part of a team’s offense is working. Whether the unit can get inside the 20 remains another story.
