World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who is currently vacationing in Greece following a spectacular win at the US Open, ran into a familiar figure in Novak Djokovic. Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka Posed Together on a Tennis Court in Athens

During her vacation in Greece, Sabalenka met the Serbian star, and the two appeared to share a friendly moment on court.

Sabalenka posted a photo with Djokovic on Instagram, captioning it “With the GOAT.”

Djokovic also posed with a little girl, believed to be the daughter of Sabalenka’s hitting partner.

Meanwhile, the Serb is expected to make his comeback at the Shanghai Masters. The Serb has opted for a more relaxed schedule for the rest of the year after failing to win a major despite making the semifinals of all four Grand Slams.

Novak Djokovic has reportedly settled in southern Athens, where he has enrolled his children in an English-speaking school. Recently, the Serb surprised fans by appearing in the stands at a Davis Cup tie between Greece and Brazil, cheering on Stefanos Tsitsipas as he faced João Fonseca in Athens. He was accompanied by his son, Stefan.

The 38-year-old’s relocation to Athens occurred following his support of student protests against the Serbian government, sparked by a tragic incident at a railway station in Novi Sad in December that resulted in 16 deaths. Notably, the former World No. 1 is expected to play in the Hellenic Championship in Athens, which will take place just before the ATP Finals.

On the other hand, Sabalenka has taken a brief pause from the competitive spotlight after withdrawing from the 2025 China Open due to a minor injury. The World No. 1 is expected to return to competitive action at the Wuhan Open, which begins on October 6.

Djokovic Revealed That Sabalenka Is His Daughter Tara’s Favourite Tennis Player

Speaking to Serbian reporters after booking his place in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, Djokovic revealed that his seven-year-old daughter Tara’s favorite player is not him, but Sabalenka, due to reasons unrelated to tennis.

“Sabalenka is her favorite. She only cares about Sabalenka,” Djokovic said with a laugh. She keeps asking if she can go to her house again because she has a fridge full of açaí.”

Sabalenka, who is currently dating Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, the founder of açaí brand Oakberry, hosted the Djokovic family and prepared bowls of the trendy fruit during Wimbledon. Since then, Tara has been hooked on the fruit, as per her father.

“She’s not too interested in tennis itself. It’s all about whether she can get some more of that açaí,”  the Serb said.
