Jannik Sinner has officially welcomed experienced ATP physiotherapist Alejandro Resnicoff into his inner circle. The four-time Grand Slam champion, who has spent much of the past year navigating controversy and constant staff changes, has now filled the final gap in his support team.
Resnicoff’s arrival comes just in time for the Asian swing, where Sinner will look to regain focus ahead of his title defense at the 2025 Shanghai Masters.

Photos and clips shared on social media recently confirmed the hire. Tennis outlets spotted Sinner arriving in Beijing for the China Open, with Resnicoff walking alongside him, marking the partnership’s first public appearance.

The move carries weight given how unsettled Sinner’s camp has been since late 2024. The Italian’s season was overshadowed by the Clostebol scandal, where he tested positive for the banned substance earlier that year. Sinner explained that the contamination came from a healing spray used by his then-fitness coach, Umberto Ferrara, and applied during a massage by physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi.
While a tribunal accepted this account and reduced his penalty to a three-month suspension, the ordeal forced Sinner to part ways with Ferrara and Naldi. He later attempted to stabilize his team by hiring Marco Panichi and Ulises Badio, two well-known figures from Novak Djokovic’s past.

However, the partnership ended abruptly before Wimbledon 2025, leaving him without a physiotherapist at a critical time. Not long after, he stunned the tennis world further by rehiring Ferrara, the same fitness coach tied to his doping ordeal.

Resnicoff’s appointment is particularly notable because he has already been by Sinner’s side during high-pressure situations. During the 2024 US Open and 2023 Wimbledon Championships, Resnicoff assisted Sinner when the latter required a medical timeout. He has served as the ATP’s Director of Medical Services since 2010 and brings over 20 years of experience working on the tour.
Ahead of his title defense in Shanghai, Sinner will make his third appearance at the ATP 500 event in Beijing, starting September 25. The Italian captured the trophy in his tournament debut in 2023 and returned to the final the following year, where he fell to Carlos Alcaraz in a three-set battle.
