On the tennis side of things, Sinner most recently wrapped up his North American hard-court season, participating in two tournaments: the 2025 Cincinnati Open and the US Open.
At the ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament in Ohio, Sinner was the defending champion and defeated Daniel Elahi Galán, Gabriel Diallo, Adrian Mannarino, Félix Auger-Aliassime, and Térence Atmane, reaching the final. He finished as the runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz after he retired during the first set of the championship match due to illness.
At the New York Major, Sinner was again the defending champion, and he overcame Vít Kopřiva, Alexei Popyrin, Denis Shapovalov, and Alexander Bublik. In the quarterfinals, the former World No. 1 eliminated Lorenzo Musetti and secured his spot in the final after beating Félix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals. In the championship match, he lost to Alcaraz, finishing as the runner-up once more.
Where Will Sinner Compete Next?
Following the conclusion of his campaign at the 2025 US Open, Sinner will next begin his run on the Asian swing of the Tour. He will next compete at the 2025 China Open, which is scheduled to take place at the National Tennis Center in Beijing from September 25 to October 1, 2025.
Alongside former World No. 1, players expected to participate at the ATP 500 hard court tournament in Beijing include Alexander Zverev, Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov, Daniil Medvedev, and Andrey Rublev, among others.
In 2024, Sinner was the defending champion and top seed at the China Open. He started his campaign by defeating Nicolás Jarry and Roman Safiullin. He then overcame Jiří Lehečka in the quarterfinals and reached the final after eliminating Bu Yunchaokete in the semifinals before losing to Alcaraz in the final.
