As the NFL heads into Week 2, several teams deal with significant injury questions after a physically challenging opening weekend. For NFL fans and fantasy managers, the injury list is critical for understanding who might be out or limited in the upcoming games. Here is a breakdown of the notable injuries and what you need to know about them.
What Do the Latest Injury Reports Mean for Week 2?
Brock Bowers, TE, Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders rookie Brock Bowers suffered a knee injury in the team’s season opener against the New England Patriots. The Raiders have listed Bowers as day-to-day ahead of their Monday night contest against the Los Angeles Chargers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Bowers suffered a non-contact injury in the third quarter and was seen walking gingerly on the sidelines. As of Wednesday, it appears unlikely that Bowers will miss the game.

However, Bowers did not practice on Thursday or Friday. Since the Raiders play on Monday night, the star tight end still has enough time to recover, and make himself available for Week 2.
#UPDATE: Bowers was back at Raiders practice on Saturday, but did not practice on Thursday and Friday.
Drake London, WR, and Younghoe Koo, K, Falcons
Drake London left the Atlanta Falcons’ opening game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a shoulder injury. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of Atlanta’s 23-20 loss at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and he did not return.
However, there was positive news from Falcons head coach Raheem Morris ahead of Wednesday’s practice. London was seen on the team’s practice field, offering hope for his availability.

“Drake is Drake. He’s ultimately tough,” Morris told reporters. “I do expect him to play.” This is excellent news for Atlanta as they prepare to face the Minnesota Vikings on “Sunday Night Football.”
On Wednesday, London was able to get on the field for some practice time. Morris expects London to play on Sunday night.
On Saturday, the Falcons announced that kicker Younghoe Koo will not be available for the Vikings game. The team listed as the reason for Koo being out as not injury related, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Atlanta promoted kicker Parker Romo for the Vikings game from the practice squad.
#UPDATE: The Falcons have confirmed that London is fully healthy to play on Sunday against the Vikings.
Xavier Worthy, WR, Chiefs
In a game watched by a worldwide audience, Xavier Worthy collided with Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce on just the third play of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, last Friday.
Worthy was immediately attended to by the Chiefs’ medical staff before heading to the locker room with a dislocated shoulder. He never returned to the game, which the Chargers won 27-21.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid says WR Xavier Worthy continues to rehab. He won’t practice today. Surgery and a potential IR stint are not being considered at this time.
— Jesse Newell (@jessenewell) September 10, 2025
According to Jesse Newell of The Athletic, who covers the team, head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Wednesday that Worthy is continuing to rehab and would not practice. On a positive note, Reid added that surgery and a potential trip to the Injured Reserve are not being considered now.
Despite that, Reid stated that Worthy would unlikely play in Week 2 against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Worthy did not practice with the team on Wednesday. However, he did practice on Thursday and Friday.
#UPDATE: On Saturday, the Chiefs officially ruled Worthy out of their game against the Eagles on Sunday.
Malik Nabers, WR, Giants
New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was already dealing with a back injury before the team’s Week 1 opener against the Washington Commanders.

Despite the lingering issue, Nabers was on the practice field in a limited capacity on Wednesday. Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters he is not concerned about Nabers’ availability for the Week 2 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
In the opener, he caught five passes for 71 yards. Daboll certainly hopes to have the key wide receiver available as a target for Giants quarterback Russell Wilson.
Then, on Thursday, Daboll said that he will be able to go full at Thursday’s practice.
#UPDATE: Nabers was cleared off the injury report on Friday and the star receiver is set to play on Sunday.
Brock Purdy, QB, 49ers
After signing Brock Purdy to a five-year, $265 million contract in the offseason, the San Francisco 49ers hoped their quarterback would start the season strong against the Seattle Seahawks.
While the 49ers secured a 17-13 victory, Purdy injured his left shoulder and left toe during the game. On Thursday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirmed that Purdy will be sidelined for two to five weeks with a turf toe variant.
With Purdy out, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan will turn over the QB1 duties to Mac Jones.
#UPDATE: Shanahan officially ruled Purdy out of Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
George Kittle, TE, 49ers
According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers’ injury woes continue with tight end George Kittle, who will “sit out a few weeks” with a hamstring injury. Kittle has been placed on Injured Reserve and will miss at least the next four weeks.
Kittle was injured in the first half of the team’s 17-13 win over the Seahawks. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, he is set to miss games against the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams.
Jauan Jennings, WR, 49ers
Adding to San Francisco’s injury list, Jauan Jennings is dealing with a left shoulder injury. He left the field during the fourth quarter of the game against the Seahawks.
The 49ers’ medical staff has been working to get Jennings ready for the 2025 season. It appears Shanahan is optimistic about having Jennings on the field for Week 2, even though Jennings held out of training camp and did not play in any preseason games. San Francisco is scheduled to play at the Saints this coming Sunday.
However, Jennings did not participate in the 49ers practice on Wednesday. The 49ers view Jennings’ injury as a “day-to-day” issue. An MRI done on his shoulder did not show up any extensive damage.
#UPDATE: Jennings was listed as questionable on Friday.
Evan Engram, TE, Broncos
Evan Engram suffered a calf injury during the Denver Broncos’ 20-12 Week 1 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Engram was a free-agent acquisition for the Broncos, who hoped he would become a solid target for quarterback Bo Nix.

Before leaving with the injury in the third quarter, Engram had three catches for 21 yards. As of Wednesday, the Broncos had not provided an update on his condition. This comes after Engram only played nine games in the 2024 season due to a torn labrum.
However, on Thursday, Engram returned to the practice field.
#UPDATE: Engram came off the Broncos’ injury list on Friday and will be able to play in Denver’s game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Micah McFadden, LB, Giants
Giants linebacker Micah McFadden suffered a foot injury in the team’s opener against the Commanders and was carted off the field in the first quarter.

— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) September 9, 2025
The injury is a tough blow for the Giants’ defense. According to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, “X-rays on game day were negative but further testing showed McFadden will be out a while. The hope is it won’t be the whole season.”
Before leaving Sunday’s game, McFadden recorded two defensive tackles and one special teams tackle.
Matthew Golden, WR, Packers
Green Bay Packers’ rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden suffered an ankle injury in the team’s 27-13 win over the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Fortunately, Golden fully participated in the Packers’ practice on Tuesday.
This is good news, as the University of Texas product is expected to be a key target for quarterback Jordan Love. He caught two passes for 16 yards in his NFL debut.
Golden was off the team’s injury report and played on Thursday night against the Washington Commanders on “Thursday Night Football.”
Austin Ekeler, RB, Commanders
Commanders running back Austin Ekeler sustained a shoulder injury during the team’s Week 1 game. He was listed as a limited participant in practice on Tuesday. Washington faces a short week as it prepares for a Thursday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Against the Giants last Sunday, Ekeler had six carries for 26 yards and three catches for 21 yards. Given the short week, his status will be a game-time decision for head coach Dan Quinn.
#UPDATE: Ekeler played against the Packers, but suffered a torn right Achilles injury on a non-contact play. On Saturday, it was announced that Ekeler will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season.
Dallas Goedert, TE, and Will Shipley, RB, Eagles
Goedert was ruled out of the Eagles’ contest against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday with a knee injury. Goedert played a significant role in the Eagles’ Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, when he caught seven passes from quarterback Jalen Hurts for 44 yards.
Goedert has missed practices all week long. It’s not an injury that reportedly will keep him out of action for a long time.
Shipley will miss the Chiefs’ game with an oblique injury that he suffered in the second quarter of the Cowboys game. The Eagles traded for running back Tank Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars, so it’s possible that he sees some snaps that would have gone Shipley’s way.
Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan, WRs, Buccaneers
Chris Godwin is officially sidelined as he continues to recover from a dislocated ankle, fractured fibula, and torn deltoid suffered during the 2024 season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hopeful he can return by late September or early October.
However, on Thursday, Godwin showed up on the team’s practice field and will go through some of it in limited fashion. It’s the first time that Godwin will practice since suffering his injury last season.
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said on Thursday that Godwin playing on Monday against the Houston Texans is a possibility. But this might be a little gamesmanship on Bowles’ part and it’s pretty unlikely Godwin will actually play.
Meanwhile, teammate Jalen McMillan is expected to miss the first half of the 2025 NFL season after suffering a scary neck injury in the preseason, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
Josh Reynolds, WR, Jets
Reynolds has been ruled out of the Jets’ game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Reynolds has been dealing with a hamstring injury and did not practice on Thursday or Friday.
Isaiah Likely, TE, Ravens
Likely has been dealing with a foot injury that he suffered in training camp, but will not be playing in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. Likely, though, did show up on Friday for the Ravens’ practice and was dressed in his uniform and did individual drills. It’s possible that Likely will return to in-game activity by Week 3.
Darren Waller, TE, Dolphins
Waller, who came out of retirement to play for the Dolphins, will miss Miami’s Week 2 game against the New England Patriots. Waller, 32, is working his way back into game condition with a hip strain.
Jalen Royals, WR, Chiefs
Royals did not participate in Kansas City’s practice on Friday and has been ruled out for Week 2 against the Eagles. Royals has been working hard to get back from having knee tendinitis issues since mid-August. Royals was a fourth-round draft pick for Kansas City in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ed Oliver, DT, Bills
It’s a tough blow as Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver was added to the team’s injury report on Thursday. Oliver has an ankle injury and was seen wearing a walking boot, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Additionally, some reporters also saw Oliver in a scooter getting around the Bills facility.
#UPDATE: On Friday, Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that Oliver will miss the Bills’ game against the New York Jets. It also was clarified that Oliver injured his ankle after someone stepped on it late at the team’s practice. He’s also expected to miss a few weeks while he recovers from his injury.
Ty Chandler, RB, Vikings
Running back Ty Chandler will miss the next four games for the Vikings. Chandler was placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury. He had a key kick return in the Vikings’ game against the Chicago Bears on Monday night.
Joe Mixon, RB, Texans
Joe Mixon suffered a non-football-related injury during the offseason that kept him out of the Texans’ training camp and preseason. He has been placed on the team’s Non-Football Injury (NFI) list, which will sideline him for at least the season’s first four games. When asked if Mixon would play at all this season, Texans GM Nick Caserio offered no clear answer, which was a concerning sign of his availability.
MarShawn Lloyd, RB, Packers
MarShawn Lloyd suffered a hamstring injury during the Packers’ preseason matchup with the Colts. He has been placed on IR and will not be eligible to return until at least Week 5, ruling him out for Green Bay’s upcoming games.
Christian Watson, WR, Packers
Christian Watson tore his ACL in the final week of the 2024 season and has been working to recover. However, he has been placed on the PUP list and will miss the season’s first four weeks.
Jalen Coker, WR, Panthers
Jalen Coker sustained a quad injury during a recent Carolina Panthers practice and has been placed on short-term IR, which will sideline him for the first four games of the regular season. There is plenty of anticipation for Coker’s sophomore season after he impressed as a rookie and delivered a strong showing in camp.
