Ndamukong Suh Makes Personal Demand to Matt Rhule With Honest Admission on Dylan Raiola

In a recent interview, Ndamukong Suh made a personal request of Nebraska HC Matt Rhule and shared his candid opinion on QB Dylan Raiola.

Since taking over as head coach in 2023, Matt Rhule has been working to restore Nebraska as one of the nation’s top college football programs.

No one knows the heyday of Cornhusker football better than Ndamukong Suh, who finished fourth in Heisman voting for Nebraska in 2009 as a defensive tackle. In a recent interview, Suh revealed a personal request for Rhule and shared his thoughts on Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola.

Ndamukong Suh Shares Request for Matt Rhule And Opinion on Dylan Raiola

Suh played for Nebraska from 2005 to 2009 and was one of the nation’s top defensive players throughout his tenure.

Over five seasons, he recorded 215 total tackles, 50 tackles for loss, 24 sacks, and four interceptions. He was selected No. 2 overall in the 2010 NFL Draft and went on to enjoy a 13-year NFL career.

He’s watched his alma mater struggle since he left, as from 2017 to 2023, the Cornhuskers didn’t record a single season with a winning record. However, Rhule has revived the program, delivering a 7-6 record in 2024.

In a recent appearance on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, Suh said that while Rhule reached out after he was initially hired as Nebraska’s head coach, the former Cornhusker wants to get more involved with the program.

“I would say I’m not that involved,” Suh said. “I just met Rhule a couple times. What I did appreciate, he called me right when he got the job, which was super nice. We’re connected because of some people at Temple and whatnot. I think he’s the right coach for the organization. I’d say this: I’d love to be more involved.”

While Rhule and Suh have yet to make any formal plans to bring the Nebraska great into a role with the program, Suh noted that he remains very supportive of the team, particularly Dylan Raiola.

Raiola’s father, Dominic Raiola, played center at Nebraska from 1998 to 2000. While he didn’t overlap with Suh in college, the two became teammates and good friends on the Detroit Lions in the NFL. Suh explained that he’s rooting for Dylan as the Cornhuskers’ quarterback.

“I’m behind the scenes, supportive of family. Especially the quarterback, in Dom Railoa, being my big brother in Detroit, and him taking care of me there. I obviously want to see the success of his son, Dylan.”

Suh is arguably one of the greatest Cornhuskers of all time, so it’s great to see him in Raiola’s corner as the young quarterback leads the next era of Nebraska football. It would be exciting to see Suh take on some role with the program as Rhule works to restore it to greatness.
