After legendary coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots parted ways, most believed the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach, who also has two rings as defensive coordinator of the New York Giants, would take some time off before returning to the NFL.
Belichick spent the past year showcasing his television skills. He worked as an analyst for CW’s “Inside the NFL” and joined ESPN as co-host of “The Breakdown” with Peyton Manning, a regular contributor to the Monday Night Football “ManningCast” alongside his brother, Eli Manning. Belichick also made frequent appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
With rumors swirling about a return to the NFL for the 2025-26 season, Belichick shocked many by accepting the head coaching job at North Carolina, which parted ways with Mack Brown following the 2024-25 season. Belichick also brought his son, Steve, as defensive coordinator. Steve is expected to eventually inherit the job once Belichick, 73, retires.
Hulu To Feature Docuseries About Bill Belichick, UNC Football This Fall
Belichick has been at the forefront of football news this offseason, not only for his historic success and return to the field but also for his off-the-field endeavors.
That attention has made North Carolina football, often considered the little brother to its basketball program, must-see TV this season. Soon, fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at the program.
Ever Wonder Studios and Hulu are producing a docuseries that will air this fall chronicling the 2025-26 football season. Rumors had circulated for months, but the project was officially announced over the weekend.
Belichick shared the news directly with his team.
“I know that you guys have heard that there was a lot of interest in doing what’s called a season-long documentary or season-long show about North Carolina football,” Belichick told his team. “So I’m excited to share with you that we will be doing that with Ever Wonder and Hulu to showcase our football program.”

“This is about the UNC football program,” Belichick added, “It’s going to feature the players working hard, which you guys do. It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do. And a program starting where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s going to go during the course of the season, which we determine on the field.”
“It will show our commitment to winning, it will show our commitment to the team, and that’s a priority.”
The series will begin airing later this fall, with more details to be released.
