The Week 2 preseason game is set for Saturday, August 16, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This matchup has become a preseason tradition, often called the “MetLife Bowl” or “Snoopy Bowl,” and it gives fans a chance to see depth chart battles and new talent before the regular season kicks off.
What Does Each Team Bring In After Week 1 Wins?
Both teams enter this game coming off victories in their preseason openers. On Saturday afternoon, Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart made his NFL preseason debut.
The first-round pick’s standout play came in the second quarter when he connected with wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey for his first touchdown pass, despite taking a hit from Bills rookie defensive lineman T.J. Sanders moments after the throw. The Giants secured a 34-25 win over Buffalo.
On defense, rookie linebacker Abdul Carter, the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft, impressed in limited snaps. Carter notched three quarterback pressures, including two against Bills veteran left tackle Dion Dawkins.
Meanwhile, the Jets continued their recent preseason dominance with a 30-10 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, improving to 13-4-1 in their last 18 preseason contests.

Quarterback Justin Fields led a 10-play, 79-yard touchdown drive, ending with a 13-yard rushing score. The Jets’ offensive line, particularly left guard Joe Tippman, set it up with two key blocks, including one on three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark, to open the lane for Fields’ run.
Off the field, the Jets welcomed back edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, who was activated from the physically unable to perform list. Johnson, a former first-round pick, recorded 55 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 2023 but missed nearly all of last season due to an Achilles injury.
