‘I Got Kids’ — Former Lakers Guard Urges WNBA Fans To ‘Stop’ Infamous Sex Toy Trend

All you need to know about the bizarre wave of sex toy-throwing incidents at WNBA games, and the response from an ex-Los Angeles Lakers guard.

Since late July 2025, there have been multiple incidents of sex toys being thrown at several WNBA games. Despite the nature of the incidents, they appear to have been coordinated, with a group associated with a cryptocurrency meme coin called Green Dildo Coin claiming responsibility.

The most recent incident happened during the game between the Indiana Fever and Los Angeles Sparks on August 5, 2025. A sex toy allegedly hit Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.

Former Lakers Guard Is Against Infamous Sex Toy Trend

The sex toy throwing incidents have mostly drawn negative responses from the sporting world. Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Lance Stephenson is among those who are not a fan of the practice. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Stephenson made his feelings known.

“I got kids,” Stephenson said. “For them to see that on the floor, man, I mean, like, I’d be devastated. Stop doing that stuff, man. A lot of kids be at the games.”

“We’re supporting the girls, we’re trying to get the girls’ games to keep leveling up, and it’s going great right now. So, for them to keep doing stuff like that, it’s making us not wanting to bring our kids to the game. So they need to stop that,” he added.

Stephenson played ten seasons in the NBA across eight teams, most notably the Indiana Pacers, and has also competed in the NBA G League and international leagues. The Pacers selected him 40th in the second round of the 2010 NBA draft.

A 6-foot-5-inch shooting guard, Stephenson was known for his versatile, energetic, and sometimes flamboyant playstyle. His peak NBA seasons were with the Pacers, from the 2012-2013 season to the 2013-2014 season. The Pacers reached the Eastern Conference semifinals in both seasons.

Notably, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2018-2019 season. Stephenson played 68 games for the Lakers, starting in three games. In the regular season, he averaged 7.2 points, 2.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Unfortunately, the Lakers missed the playoffs. Incidentally, the 2018-2019 season was when LeBron James signed with the Lakers for a four-year, $154,000,000 contract.

In addition to the Lakers and Pacers, Stephenson has played for the Charlotte Hornets, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, and Atlanta Hawks. His final season in the NBA was with the Pacers in the 2021-2022 season.

Stephenson now plays for the Miami 305 team in the BIG3 league. The team also includes Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, and Reggie Evans, and it is coached by Michael Cooper. In the BIG3, Stephenson has had some notable moments, including a physical altercation with Dwight Howard
