WTA star Emma Navarro is set to continue her hard-court campaign in the North American swing. Following a disappointing exit at the Canadian Open, the 24-year-old will now test her levels in Cincinnati.
The surprise, however, comes in her doubles participation as this time, she will step on the courts with her sister, Margaret Navarro.
About Emma Navarro’s Sister and New Doubles Partner Margaret
Meggie Navarro, the younger sister of WTA standout Emma Navarro, is carving her path on the professional tennis circuit. A former five-star recruit from Ashley Hall High School, she earned All-Lowcountry First-Team honors in her classification and was ranked among the top 15 junior players in the Southeast.
Now a senior at the University of Virginia, Meggie is a key player in the Cavaliers’ doubles lineup. She secured a notable 20-7 doubles record in the 2023–24 season and 19-11 in 2024–25.
Tennis has always been a big part of the Navarro family. Growing up, Meggie and Emma often practiced together, pushing each other to improve. Emma has even joked that she could be “a little mean” to her siblings when they were young, but it’s clear the two share a strong bond. That mix of rivalry and support has carried into their adult lives, both on and off the court.

The sisters’ connection to tennis goes beyond playing. Their father, billionaire Ben Navarro, owns the Charleston Open and the Cincinnati Open, two of the biggest tennis tournaments in the United States. This means Meggie, Emma, and their brothers, Earl and Owen, grew up at the highest level around the game.

When Emma Navarro Made a Staggering Revelation About Her Childhood Adventures With Margaret
Emma Navarro once spoke about her close and playful bond with Meggie and her other two siblings. According to the WTA star, they were surrounded by the sporting vibe from a very early age. She also admitted to having used her energy to dominate her siblings, sometimes playfully.
“Maybe I was a little bit mean to my siblings sometimes growing up. Not really bossy, but I had a lot of energy as a kid, I think, and maybe I took it out on my siblings sometimes,” she said.
Explaining the impact of her father’s sporting experience on her siblings, she told the Tennis Channel:
“I gotta give a lot of credit to my dad. He’s probably the smartest guy I know, and has dropped a lot of knowledge and wisdom on my siblings and I over the years. He’s taught me a bunch about the perspective I need to take.”
The Navarro sisters will kick off their doubles campaign against Guilina Olmos and Aldila Sutjiadi in the round of 32 matchup on Saturday, Aug. 9.
