“D came into school, and right away, there’s an energy to her. There’s a charisma to her. She was the first one to tease you, but also the first one to put her arm around you. That says a lot about her.”
Taurasi reflects on being the younger player:
“Sue is two years older than me. When you’re a freshman, you’re a freshman. Nobody gives a shit about you. But we became friends.”

“D had that West Coast vibe. It’s a little more chill, it’s a little more showy. In practice, she’d be a little loose with it, turn it over. That wasn’t gonna fly,” setting the stage for Geno Auriemma’s intense practice scenes.
