Angel Reese could not help but share her excitement about Netflix’s “The Hunting Wives” with her fans and followers. The Dallas Wings’ All-Star forward saw something she liked in the series, and she went straight to social media to tell the world– and the people behind the show. Now fans want to know: Could Angel Reese actually land in Season 2?
What Did Angel Reese Say About “The Hunting Wives” and How Did Rebecca Cutter Respond?
The Netflix series, which dropped on July 21, adapts May Cobb’s hit 2021 novel. Showrunner Rebecca Cutter, whose past credits include “The Mentalist” and “Gotham,” led the project. Cutter was a writer and story editor for “The Mentalist” before leaving after its sixth season, and she was also one of the producers on “Gotham.”
Reese, always one to speak her mind, gave her take on “The Hunting Wives” a couple of days after binge-watching. She did not hold back on social media:
“Nglllll The Hunting Wives is a CRAZYYYY but good watch😭,” she wrote on X. That shout-out got Cutter’s attention. The showrunner reposted Reese’s message and replied, “I am DEAD on the floor!!! thank you for watching our lil ol show [Angel Reese]!!!”
Building off their playful exchange, Reese doubled down with a cheeky follow-up:
“just let me know if you need me for season 2 😉,” Reese wrote.

What Makes “The Hunting Wives” a Hit and Who’s in the Cast?
Set in Maple Brook, a fictional town in East Texas, the series kicks off with outsider Sophie stepping into a tight-knit group. The housewives, whose spouses hold conservative beliefs, gradually reveal that nothing in their world is as it seems. Sophie’s journey within the circle of wives forms the story’s heart.
The cast is packed with familiar faces. Brittany Snow, well known for playing Chloe Beale in “Pitch Perfect,” stars as Sophie. Malin Akerman takes on the role of Margo Banks, the group’s queen bee. Jaime Ray Newman, Katie Lowes, and Joyce Glenn play the other wives. Also in the series are Evan Jonigkei, Dermot Mulroney, Branton Box, and Jason Davis as the husbands.
The first season delivered eight episodes and racked up big viewership for Netflix. Despite the buzz, Netflix has not confirmed if a second season is in the works.
Can Athletes Like Angel Reese Land a Spot on Shows They Love?
For now, Reese and fans will have to wait to see if her wish comes true. Athletes making guest appearances on their favorite TV shows is nothing new. Not long ago, Los Angeles Dodgers’ fan favorite Enrique Hernandez had a cameo in “The Rookie.”
With the excitement building, fans will keep watching to see if “The Hunting Wives”– and Reese– are coming back for more.
