Travis Kelce has been among the best tight ends in the NFL for over a decade. The Kansas City Chiefs star has recorded 12,151 receiving yards and 77 touchdowns on 1,004 receptions during his 12-year career, which figures to land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Kelce is coming off his worst season, in terms of receiving yards and touchdowns, since his rookie year, where he played just one snap on special teams before suffering a season-ending injury as he finished with 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 97 receptions in 2024. Despite his decline in production, the ten-time Pro Bowler’s popularity has never been higher due to the nature of his high-profile relationship with superstar Taylor Swift.
The singer was on hand at a celebratory concert during Kelce and George Kittle’s Tight End University camp over the summer. Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson revealed that he met Swift and was starstruck by the encounter.
Cowboys Star Reveals He Was Starstruck After Meeting Travis Kelce’s Girlfriend Taylor Swift
Swift is among the most famous people in the world, so it is no surprise that people get starstruck upon meeting her. That was the case for Ferguson, who described him and his fiancée Haley Cavinder’s meeting with the pop star, stating:
“I shook her hand. I still haven’t washed my hand. She’s so normal. She met my fiancée, my fiancée was like, ‘She’s so nice!’ Not that I was expecting anything different, but like, she knew football. She was talking like, ‘We [the Chiefs] got a big game at Cowboys this year!'”
The Chiefs and Cowboys are set to clash at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day in a game that garners plenty of fanfare. It has been a big offseason for Ferguson, as in addition to meeting Swift, he and Cavinder, a college basketball player for the Miami (FL) Hurricanes and social media influencer, were engaged in April.
Ferguson also agreed to a four-year, $52 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news, posting:
“The #Cowboys and standout TE Jake Ferguson have agreed to terms on a 4-year extension worth $52M in new money with $30M total guaranteed. The deal was done by agent Jack Bechta (@jackbechta). Ferguson gets a $12M signing bonus. Dallas takes care of a young star.”
