Fans Slam Browns Social Media Over A Shedeur Sanders Video

The arrival of a new quarterback can mean many things to an NFL fan: hope for some and skepticism for others. In Sanders’ case, his story with the Browns is already off to a rocky start.

After a surprising fall to the fifth draft round, Sanders landed in Cleveland amid a four-way quarterback competition that includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. Many fans believe Sanders won’t get a fair shot at earning the starting role.

Frustration boiled over after the Browns posted a video on X showing Sanders throwing a pass to a coach, framed as a playful Madden-style angle. Fans were unimpressed, questioning why he wasn’t working with wide receivers instead.

One fan commented, “What an embarrassment…. make shift reps with ball boys???” on X. The backlash stems from conflicting insider reports suggesting Sanders is currently last on the depth chart, sparking concerns that he’s not being given a real opportunity.

Supporters also criticized the team for using Sanders’ image on social media without letting him prove himself on the field. Some asked the franchise to stop promoting him if it didn’t intend to give him a fair chance to compete.

The Browns’ quarterback situation has only added to the tension. With Deshaun Watson still on the roster, the team could carry five QBs heading into camp, four of whom arrived this offseason, including both Sanders and Gabriel in the same draft class.

Despite the chaos, Sanders has become a fan favorite. Many see him as a potential breakout star, especially after his dramatic fall from a projected top-10 pick to Day 3. The fanbase’s affection is real, and the frustration comes from wanting to see him succeed in Cleveland.

The quarterback hierarchy will begin to take shape during the preseason, with Flacco and Pickett likely ahead of the rookies. If the Browns choose not to carry all four into the season, a trade is also possible. In the meantime, fans are expected to keep voicing their concerns if Sanders doesn’t get meaningful reps.

While the outrage is understandable, it’s worth noting that training camp includes a variety of drills and setups; not every session features full-squad reps. It’s still early, and patience is key during the evaluation process.
