Following their runs at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jack Draper were set to compete in the Canadian Open. However, all four players have withdrawn from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament. The Canadian Open is scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 7 at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto.

Sinner and Alcaraz concluded Wimbledon as the champion and runner-up, respectively. At the same time, Djokovic reached the semifinals before being defeated by the World No. 1, and Draper, competing in his home Grand Slam, was eliminated in the second round by Marin Čilić.
After the conclusion of their grass court campaigns, Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz, and Draper were set to transition to hard courts at the Canadian Open; however, it was recently reported that all four players had withdrawn from the tournament.

Draper also took to social media to reveal why he withdrew from the Canadian Open. He disclosed that he sustained an injury to his left arm at Wimbledon, which will prevent him from participating in both Toronto and the Cincinnati Open. However, he stated that he would be back for the US Open.
“After Wimbledon I picked up an injury in my left arm, nothing serious, but I have to make sure it recovers fully for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to compete in Toronto and Cincinnati…. See you in NYC !” Draper posted.

Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic Expected To Compete at Cincinnati Open 2025 Ahead of US Open
Following their withdrawal from the 2025 Canadian Open, Sinner, Djokovic and Alcaraz are expected to compete at the 2025 Cincinnati Open, a key event leading up to the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open.
The ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament is scheduled to take place from Aug. 7 to Aug. 18, 2025, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. The Serb has won the tournament three times: in 2018, 2020, and 2023, and has finished as the runner-up on five occasions. Meanwhile, Sinner will enter the tournament as the defending champion, having secured his first Cincinnati title in 2024.
In 2024, Sinner was the top seed and began his campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. He started with a victory over qualifier Alex Michelsen in his opening match and then advanced to the quarterfinals when his third-round opponent, Jordan Thompson, withdrew from the tournament.
In the quarterfinals, the World No. 1 triumphed over sixth seed Andrey Rublev and progressed to the final after defeating third seed Alexander Zverev in the semifinals. In the championship match, Sinner claimed the title by defeating Frances Tiafoe with a scoreline of 7-6(4), 6-2, his third Masters 1000 title and the 15th overall title of his ATP Tour career.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz’s best result in Cincinnati was in 2023, where he defeated qualifier Jordan Thompson, 14th seed Tommy Paul, qualifier Max Purcell, and Hubert Hurkacz to reach the final. There, he finished as the runner-up after losing to Djokovic.
On the other hand, Djokovic secured his most recent Cincinnati Open title in 2023. He was seeded second and also began his campaign in the second round after a first-round bye. En route to the final, he defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Gaël Monfils, Taylor Fritz, and Zverev.
In the championship match, the 24-time Grand Slam champion defeated top seed Carlos Alcaraz, winning 5-7, 7-6(7), 7-6(4) to win the title, his third Cincinnati Masters title, his 39th ATP Tour Masters 1000 title overall.

Sinner, Alcaraz, and Djokovic are expected to compete at the US Open following their campaigns in Cincinnati. Last year, the Italian player won the title by defeating Fritz in the final. The World No. 2 lost in the second round to Botic van de Zandschulp, while the Serb was eliminated in the third round by Alexei Popyrin.
