Colorado HC Deion Sanders Leaves One-Word Response After WWE Star Roman Reigns Is Spotted Wearing His Nike Sneakers

Roman Reigns paid tribute to Deion Sanders by wearing his iconic Nike Diamond Turfs during his return to Monday Night Raw.

When Roman Reigns stepped back into the WWE ring on Monday Night Raw, wrestling fans weren’t just watching the return of one of the sport’s biggest stars. They were witnessing a moment that connected two athletic legends across completely different worlds.

However, the shoes on Reigns’ feet told a story that had nothing to do with wrestling and everything to do with respect for greatness.

What Makes Roman Reigns’ Show Selection on Monday Night Raw So Special?

Deion Sanders is far more than just the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. He’s a 14-year NFL veteran, a former MLB standout, and a cultural icon with influence that extends well beyond the field. One of the many examples of his lasting impact is his signature Nike sneaker line, the Diamond Turfs, which first debuted in 1994.

Though the shoes haven’t been available at retail since 2012, they recently made a sighting when a WWE superstar rocked them during his return on Monday Night Raw, and Sanders seemed pleased to see his signature shoe back in the spotlight.

Roman Reigns is one of the biggest WWE superstars of all time. After a hiatus from Monday Night Raw, the legendary wrestler returned to the event for SummerSlam.

While the night was filled with excitement about Reigns’s return to the ring, one of the biggest stories was the wrestler wearing Sanders’ signature Nike Diamond Turfs during his fight.

Sanders’ signature shoes aren’t necessarily made for WWE wrestling, but Reigns performed well in them, showing that he hasn’t lost a step quite yet.

How Did Coach Prime React to This Tribute?

Sanders saw the Original Tribal Chief battling in the ring wearing his signature shoes and took to Instagram to post a one-word response to the wrestler’s tribute.

“Nice,” Sanders wrote.

The two aren’t publicly friends and have never been seen together, so Reigns’ shoe choice was likely just an homage to Coach Prime’s legacy.

Sanders has been dealing with a health issue for the last month, which could be another reason that Reigns decided to rep the Colorado coach’s signature shoe.

There’s no denying that Primetime is one of the most influential people in the sports world. From his legendary college football and NFL career to his work on the baseball diamond in the MLB, his athletic prowess stretches across multiple sports.

While Sanders never wrestled himself, his legacy and respect from other athletes have now extended into the WWE, with Reigns wearing his signature shoe.

Sanders appears to have recovered from his health issue. He was recently seen at Big 12 Media Day and is back on campus in Boulder as he prepares to lead the Buffaloes through the Big 12 during the 2025 season.

Seeing a star like Reigns acknowledge Sanders highlights the lasting impact Sanders has had not just in sports, but in culture as a whole.
