Serena Williams Shows Her Dedication to Fitness in New Gym Selfies

Former World No. 1 Serena Williams recently revealed on Instagram that she remains in flattering shape despite retiring from tennis in August of 2022.

Serena Williams Has Earned Applause for Her Chiselled Physique

The younger Williams sister recently took to Instagram, where she has over 18 million followers, to give a peek into her physique. The selfies, taken at the gym, revealed that Williams is back to her best shape.

“Working out and working on my angles,” Williams captioned the post.

Meanwhile, many of her followers have applauded Williams on her transformation.

“Did anyone say ‘we miss you playing’ yet? You literally look back to your early twenties!,” a commenter wrote on the post. “What’s your secrets???? Looking better than ever!,” wrote another.

 Many of her fans urged the former World No. 1 to make a comeback to the tour.

Williams stays busy with her numerous pursuits outside tennis since she retired from the sport. A successful entrepreneur, she owns a venture capital firm, Serena Ventures, a beauty brand called Wyn Beauty, a clothing line called S by Serena, a multimedia production company called Nine Two Six Productions, and an investment in the Miami Dolphins.

The former World No. 1 also posts about parenting and her family life, which she has also described as a priority in her post-retirement life. Williams is married to entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, best known as the co-founder of social media platform Reddit. They have two daughters together: Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. and Adira River Ohanian.

Serena Williams Retired From Tennis in 2022

Williams first captured the world’s attention in 1999, she won her first Grand Slam singles title at the US Open at the young age of 17. More than two decades later, Williams cited a desire to focus on her family and other personal goals as the primary reasons for “evolving away” from the sport.

The American’s last tournament was the US Open in 2022, where she entered the main draw using a protected ranking. She started her campaign at the New York Major with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Danka Kovinić and followed it up with a 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-2 win over Anett Kontaveit to reach the third round. Here, she suffered a 5-7, 7-6(4), 1-6 defeat to Ajla Tomljanović.

Williams bid farewell to tennis with 23 Grand Slam singles titles to her name and another 16 in doubles.
