5 Best Available Free Agents the Philadelphia Eagles Should Target, Including Justin Simmons

Five available free agents that Nick Sirianni's Philadelphia Eagles could consider signing, including Justin Simmons, Keenan Allen, and more.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a Super Bowl 59 victory and the 2025 NFL Draft and are arguably the most complete team in the NFL. That said, there’s always talent to improve the roster.

According to OverTheCap, they have nearly $26 million in cap space.

Below, I’ll examine five available free agents they should consider targeting to repeat and win Super Bowl 60.

5 Available Free Agents the Philadelphia Eagles Should Consider

Linval Joseph, DT

Joseph will turn 37 in October, and adding him to the Eagles roster would provide a veteran presence that’ll help the morale of the defensive side of the ball, especially with Brandon Graham retiring.

He played 264 snaps last year, so he wouldn’t be used much, but again, this could be a nice depth piece with Milton Williams departing, who also adds veteran leadership.

In that limited playing time, he had six pressures and two sacks.

Keenan Allen, WR

Allen’s production took a step back in 2024 with the Chicago Bears, as he caught 70 passes on 117 targets for 744 yards and seven touchdowns, but if he came to the Eagles, he would add another offensive weapon for quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles have some strong depth pieces they’re looking to get more out of with players like Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith, but Allen would provide a strong route runner who can get open underneath and help move the chains.

As PFSN’s Justin Lewis notes, Allen prefers the Bears or returning to the team that drafted him, the Los Angeles Chargers, but the Eagles offer the strong upside of chasing a ring.

Justin Simmons, S

This is a match made in heaven. Vic Fangio is the current defensive coordinator for the Eagles, and Simmons played under him from 2019 to 2021 when he was with the Denver Broncos. Simmons received a Pro Bowl and two second-team All-Pro nods during those seasons.

His play took a noticeable step back with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, but a reunion with Fangio could be just what he needs.

Dalton Risner, OG

Risner has dealt with his fair share of injuries, but when he’s on the field, he’s solid in pass protection.

Across 3,187 pass-blocking snaps, he’s allowed just 11 sacks over his career. It’s never a bad thing to have some guard depth, and Risner, given his injuries, could be a cheap option.

Za’Darius Smith, EDGE

In 2024, Smith played with the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions. He had nine sacks and 61 pressures.

The depth chart is a bit stuffed, especially after drafting Ty Robinson, but Smith in a rotation would provide the Eagles with even more pass rush.
