The San Francisco 49ers are 6-4 and third in the NFC West, despite losing the best middle linebacker in the league, Fred Warner. Warner suffered a season-ending injury to his ankle in the team’s 30-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, a truly devastating blow to a team going through so many injuries already.
In six games, the four-time All-Pro logged 51 tackles, two tackles for loss, three passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery… Remarkable numbers for someone who hadn’t missed time once in his eight-year career. Now, with an unexpected break on his hands, Warner has announced a new career move.
Fred Warner’s New Career Move
Warner is joining the bandwagon that so many other athletes are hopping on, which is creating their own show. Warner is partnering with G.O.A.T. Farm Media to release his own show called ‘Real Ones‘.
From the looks of it, Warner will break down performances and share his opinion on how they relate to his own experiences as a middle linebacker.
He has two other posts on his page, one that discusses New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye’s ability to play at a high level. His other post discusses Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell as an elite player caller.
Beyond the basic premise of the show, Warner’s new project reflects the overall shift players are making in the realm of sports media. Instead of waiting for retirement to pursue a media career, they’re getting started early by creating shows while they’re playing. He’s building his brand while building his playing résumé.

Warner has always been one of the most intelligent defensive minds in the league, and this new show provides him with the platform to showcase his football IQ to fans. Despite the show being new, it seems he’ll break down all types of offensive and defensive schemes and play calling.
For fans, it’s a new way to see a side of Warner that we don’t see. Middle linebackers are essentially the quarterbacks of the defense, so to hear someone regarded as the best in the league share their thoughts and opinions is a gift.

As the 49ers navigate a challenging year without their defensive leader, Warner’s presence in the media world will keep him connected to the game while also expanding his reach beyond the field.
